Dorset, Temporary Road Closures Due To Maintenance & Infrastructure Works

What is happening?

Temporary Traffic Management Order of C2, Horton

DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 8th May 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months, however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 15th May 2025.

This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out carriageway maintenance and resurfacing works.

The effect of the Order is as follows: [i] To impose a temporary road closure on; C2, Horton as indicated by signs on site. [ii] To impose a clearway and parking suspension as indicated by signs on site to prevent waiting or parking on the highway along C2, Horton.

A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.

Temporary Closure of Pond Head, Holt

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles, cyclists and horse riders will be prohibited from proceeding along Pond Head, Holt between 20 Pond Head and Lodge Road, a distance of approximately 170 metres. The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 22nd April 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months, however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 2nd May 2025.

This Order will enable Wessex Internet to carry out fibre cab installation works.

A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed section.
