Wiltshire, Multiple Roads, Temporary Closures Due To Various Works
What is happening?
SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:
A) C321 (Part), Pitton and Farley; from its junction with High Street for a distance of approximately 50m in a north westerly direction to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out repairs to bridge parapet following vehicle strike and associated works. Alternative route via C321 (unaffected length) – A30 – Firis Road – C323 – High Street and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 06 May 2025 and the closure will be required until 09 May 2025. For further information please contact Wiltshire Council on 01225 718063.
B) C289 (Part), Grimstead; from its junction with Green Drove to its junction with C323 to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out verge overrun repairs and associated works. Alternative route via C289 (unaffected length) – C331 – C321 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 06 May 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 07:30 and 17:00 until 16 May 2025. C) C336 (Part), Downton; from its property known as Witherington Farm for a distance of approximately 1.5km in a south easterly direction to enable Scottish and Southern Power Distribution to carry out pole inspections and associated works. Alternative route via C336 (unaffected length) – B3080 – A338 – A36 – C324 – C336 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 06 May 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 1 day. D) Richmond Road, Salisbury; from its junction with Kingsland Road for its entire length to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out surface patching and associated works. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on 14 April 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:00 for 1 day. E) New Road (Part), Landford; from its junction with B3079 for a distance of approximately 1km in a north easterly direction to enable Openreach to carry out repairs to communication equipment and associated works. Alternative route via New Road (unaffected length) – A36 – B3079 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 14 April 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 for 3 days. F) Ayleswade Road (Part), Salisbury; from its junction with Ayleswade Road to its property known as St Nicholas Hospital.
G) Ayleswade Road (Sackville), Salisbury; from its junction with Exeter Street for its entire length.
H) Hamilton Road, Salisbury; from its junction with Ayleswade Road to its junction with Hamilton Road.
These Orders are required to enable the safe routing of abnormal loads. No alternative route is available. These Orders will come into operation on 14 April 2025 and the closures will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 16:00 until 25 April 2025. I) Gates Lane (Part), Tisbury and West Tisbury; for a distance of approximately 50m either side of the level crossing to enable Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd to carry out level crossing and associated works. Alternative route via Tisbury Gates Lane (unaffected length) – C61 – Share Lane – East Hatch – Tisbury Gates Lane (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order which previously came into operation on 12 October 2024 will now recommence on 13 April 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 16:00 for 1 day. Orders A) to H) will have a maximum duration of 18 months, Order I) has a maximum duration of 18 months. The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.
