CITY OF NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE

(ON STREET PARKING PLACES) ORDER 2009
(HADDRICKS MILL AREA VARIATION) ORDER 2025

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 3rd April 2025 the Council of the City of Newcastle upon Tyne made an Order under Sections 32, 35, 45, 46, 49, 53, 63 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 which amends the City of Newcastle upon Tyne (On Street Parking Places) Order 2009 (“the 2009 Order”).

2. The effect of the Order which will come into operation on 28th April 2025 is to designate the following roads/length of road as a parking place zone for permit holders between the hours of 8am - 6.30pm Monday to Saturday -

Haddricks Mill Area Zone consisting of the following lengths of road -

Craghall Dene Avenue - both sides, for its entire length,

Percy Terrace - both sides, for its entire length, and Rectory Terrace - both sides, from the unnamed access road to Dilston Terrace northwards for 50 metres.

The parking place zone will be added to the 2009 Order and therefore the provisions and conditions of that Order will apply to it.

NOTE: Resident parking permits will be available for each eligible property (a maximum of 2 per property) which will exempt permit holders from the restriction. A visitor parking permit may also be issued to eligible residential properties (a maximum of one per property).

Permits may also be available (if they would cause no unreasonable detriment to resident parking) for any property occupied by a business or charity (maximum numbers apply). Permits will be issued for Parking Zone G6. Details of permit charges/issue/renewal, conditions of use, discounts and types of permit are contained in the 2009 Order.

Eligible Properties: Craghall Dene Avenue - Nos. 1-13, Percy Terrace - Nos. 1-8, Rectory Terrace - Nos. 1-12.

If you wish to view the documents relating to the Order (including the draft Order, Map and a statement of the Council’s reasons for proposing to make the Order), please email a request to streetworks@newcastle.gov.uk

Alternatively, please telephone (0191) 2787878 to request a copy of the documents.

If you wish to question the validity of the above Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the Act or that any relevant requirements have not been complied with in relation to the Orders you may, within six weeks from 3rd April 2025, apply to the High Court for this purpose.
