2. (A420, CUMNOR TO FYFIELD PARISHES) (50 MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 20**
NOTICE is given that Oxfordshire County Council proposes to make the above orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers. The proposals, which are put forward as part of the Council’s ‘Vision Zero’ (road safety) strategy include the following aspects:
The effect order 1. is to introduce a 40mph speed limit on Oaksmere in Appleton, leading north-westwards from its junction with the A420, to the new 20mph speed limit terminal at a point 49 metres south of its junction with Fettiplace Close, replacing the current national 60mph speed limit in the process.
Order 2. proposes a 50mph speed limit on the A420, between the existing 50mph limits at Tubney Wood and Parklands Manor (ex. Besselsleigh School), thus creating a continuous limit between Fyfield & Cumnor, also replacing the existing national speed limit in the process.
