What is happening?

NOTICE OF EXTENSION IN DURATION OF FOOTPATH CLOSURE ORDER DEFINITIVE MAP FOOTPATHS 102 AND 154, WORSLEY

Notice is hereby given that pursuant to section 15 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the Department for Transport has issued a further Direction extending the duration of the Salford City Council (Definitive Map Footpaths 102 and 154, Worsley) (Temporary Footpath Closures) Order 2023 (made by the Council on 21 November 2023) so that it may continue in force to 27 November 2025 (subject to further extension), or until the completion of the works to which the Order relates, whichever is earlier.

The effect of the Order (as extended) is to close to pedestrians the lengths of Footpath specified in the Schedule below. The diversion route is also specified below.

SCHEDULE
Footpath Closures
1. Definitive Map Footpath 102 Worsley - Full length (from Footpath 101 on Rothwell Lane, north to its junction with Footpath 154, a distance of approximately 494 metres); and
2. Definitive Map Footpath 154 Worsley - From its junction with Footpath 102, for a distance of approximately 463 metres, to the pedestrian footbridge over the M61.

Diversion - on the southern boundary of the development of the former Brackley Golf Club the diversionary route for Footpath 102 begins on Rothwell Lane and then follows a footpath at the back of the playing field which links to Greenheys Road. The diversionary route then turns right onto Greenheys Road, and a left onto Brookhurst Lane, followed by another left onto Captain Fold Road. After following Captain Fold Road for 250 metres, the diversionary route then turns left onto Bullows Road which leads to Moorhey Road. The diversion then continues straight ahead onto Footpath 154. The diversion then follows Footpath 154 for a distance of approximately 195 metres towards the pedestrian footbridge at the M61, where the diversion concludes. The diversion is accessible in both directions.
