What is happening?

Hertfordshire County Council:

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984
Temporary Closing Of Bridleway Little Berkhamsted 21

NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit pedestrians, horseriders, and cyclists from using that length of Bridleway Little Berkhamsted 21, heading south to junction to Stockings Lane, for an approximate distance of 60m.

Alternative Route: via Little Berkhamsted 6 and 24 The purpose of the Order is to enable utilities works to take place.

The section of Bridleway Little Berkhamsted 21 will be closed on or after 22 April 2025 for up to 2 days, when signs are in place.

(Temporary Closing Of Bramfield Lane, Waterford) Order 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Bramfield Lane, Waterford from its junction with Tattle Hill north eastwards, south eastwards and north eastwards to its junction with A119 High Road, a distance of approximately 967m (“the Road”).

An alternative route will be via Tattle Hill, Bramfield Road and A119 (North Road/High Road).

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 28 April 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. 

However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(Temporary Closing Of Mill Lane, Watton At Stone) Order 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Mill Lane, Watton At Stone from a point 40m north east of its junction with High Street north eastwards for a distance of approximately 14m (“the Road”), except for access.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. 

However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works. 

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 30 April 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. 

However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(Temporary Closing Of Various Roads In Brickendon And Hertford) Order 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access:-

1. that length of Brickendon Lane, Brickendon/Hertford from its junction with Pembridge Lane north eastwards, north westwards, north eastwards and north westwards to its junction with B158 Horns Mill Road, a distance of approximately 4001m.

An alternative route will be via Pembridge Lane, White Stubbs Lane, C54 (unnamed road), Church Road, Robins Nest Hill and B158 (Lower Hatfield Road/Horns Mill Road).

2. that length of Pembridge Lane, Brickendon from its junction with Cock Lane south westwards, north westwards and south westwards for a distance of approximately 1908m.

An alternative route will be via Cock Lane, White Stubbs Lane and Pembridge Lane.

3. that length of Queens Road, Hertford from its junction with Morgans Road north eastwards and north westwards to its junction with Queens Road, a distance of approximately 848m. An alternative route will be via Morgans Road, Highfield Road, B158 (Pegs Lane/Hale Road) and Hale Road.

4. that length of Villiers Street, Hertford from its junction with Railway Street south eastwards to its junction with A119 Ware Road, a distance of approximately 166m.

An alternative route will be via Railway Street, Mill Road and Ware Road.

5. that length of Morgans Road, Hertford from its junction with Highfield Road south eastwards to its junction with Queens Road, a distance of approximately 301m.

An alternative route will be via Highfield Road and Queens Road.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 1 May 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. 

However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(Temporary Closing Of Orchard Road, Tewin) Order 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Orchard Road, Tewin from a point 40m south east of its junction with Badgers Walk south eastwards for a distance of approximately 30m (“the Road”).

An alternative route will be via Orchard Road, Harmer Green Lane, New Road, Harmer Green Lane, Hertford Road, B1000 Hertford Road, Churchfield Road, School Lane, Lower Green, Upper Green Road, Upper Green and Orchard Road.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 28 April 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. 

However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(Temporary Closing Of B1368 Green End, Braughing) Order 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of B1368 Green End, Braughing from its junction with Gravelly Lane south westwards to its junction with Ford Street, a distance of approximately 754m (“the Road”), except for access. 

An alternative route will be via B1368 (Green End/Hay Street/ Dassels/Dassels Hill/ unnamed road), B1038 (unnamed road/ Hare Street Road/High Street), B1368 Baldock Road, A10 (Buntingford Bypass/unnamed road) and B1368 (Buntingford Road/Wickham Hill/Station Road).

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 17 April 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(Temporary Waiting Restrictions On Collett Road And High Oak Road, Ware) Order 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”) whilst works are in progress:- 

1. that length of Collett Road, Ware from a point in line with the western boundary of No.14 Collett Road south eastwards for a distance of approximately 35m.

2. that length of High Oak Road, Ware from its junction with Collett Road north eastwards for a distance of approximately 25m.

The Order is needed because remedial works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 14 April 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(Temporary Closing And Temporary Waiting Restrictions In Various Roads In Little Berkhamsted, Bayford, Westmill And Bramfield) Order 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-

1. that length of Stockings Lane, Little Berkhamsted from its junction with Robins Nest Hill north eastwards to its junction with Little Berkhamsted Public Footpath No.006, a distance of approximately 453m. 

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. 

However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

2. that length of White Stubbs Lane, Bayford from its junction with Ashendene Road north eastwards and south eastwards to its junction with Pembridge Lane, a distance of approximately 2832m.

An alternative route will be via White Stubbs Lane, C54 (unnamed road), Newgate Street Village, Newgate Street, Darnicle Hill, Hammondstreet Road, Dig Dag Hill, Longfield Lane, Flamstead End Road, B156 (Brookfield Lane West/ Halfhide Lane), A10 Great Cambridge Road, A1170 High Road, Bell Lane, Baas Hill and White Stubbs Lane.

3. that length of C16 (unnamed road), Westmill from its junction with C16 Nasty north eastwards, north westwards, north eastwards and north westwards for a distance of approximately 2997m.

An alternative route will be via C16 Nasty, Mentley Lane West, A10 (Puckeridge Bypass/unnamed road), Station Hill and C16 (unnamed road).

4. that length of Main Road, Bramfield from a point 495m south east of its junction with Holly Grove Road south eastwards, north eastwards and south eastwards to its junction with Bramfield Lane, a distance of approximately 685m.

An alternative route will be via Main Road, Winding Shott, Bramfield Road, Burnham Green Road, Orchard Road, Upper Green, Upper Green Road, Lower Green, School Lane, Churchfield Road, B1000 (Hertford Road/Welwyn Road), A119 North Road, Bramfield Road and Tattle Hill.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 14 April 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. 

However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(Temporary Closing Of Coltsfoot Lane, Datchworth) Order 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Coltsfoot Lane, Datchworth from a point 30m south west of its junction with Bramfield Road south westwards for a distance of approximately 30m (“the Road”).

An alternative route will be via Coltsfoot Lane, Bramfield Road, Datchworth Green, Mardleybury Road, White Horse Lane and Coltsfoot Lane.

The Order is needed because electrical connection works are proposed to be executed near the Road. 

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 14 April 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. 

However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(Temporary Closing And Temporary Waiting Restrictions In B156 Halfhide Lane, Cheshunt) Order 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of B156 Halfhide Lane, Cheshunt from its junction with the B176 High Road/B176 Cheshunt Wash roundabout north westwards to its junction with Garner Drive, a distance of approximately 65m (“the Road”), except for access. 

An alternative route will be via B176 (Cheshunt Wash/High Street/Turners Hill), B198 College Road, Churchgate and B156 (Churchgate Road/Flamstead End Lane/Brookfield Lane West/ Halfhide Lane) or via B176 High Road, A1170 Cambridge Road and B156 Halfhide Lane.

ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the Road whilst works are in progress.

The Order is needed because water service connection works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 14 April 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. 

However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(Temporary Closing Of Cock Lane, Hoddesdon) Order 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Cock Lane, Hoddesdon from a point 300m south west junction with Harmonds Wood Close south westwards for a distance of approximately 90m (“the Road”).

An alternative route will be via Cock Lane, A1170 High Road/ High Street), Bell Lane, Baas Hill, White Stubbs Lane and Cock Lane.

The Order is needed because tree cutting works are proposed to be executed near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 15 April 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. 

However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.
