What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(LITTLE LANE, CLOPHILL)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Little Lane, Clophill outside number 10.

This temporary closure is required to enable engineers access to telegraph poles safely and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 29 April 2025 between the hours of 9:30am and 3:30pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Great Lane, High Street, Mill Lane, Kiln Lane and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 29 April 2025 for a period of three months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(HOW END ROAD, HOUGHTON CONQUEST)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the full length of How End Road, Houghton Conquest.

This temporary closure is required to enable duct installation works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 28 April 2025 to 12 May 2025 between the hours of 8am and 6pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

There is no alternative route for this closure.

The Order will come into operation on 28 April 2025 for a period of one month or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(LONGSLADE LANE, ASPLEY HEATH)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Longslade Lane, Aspley Heath from Hundreds Farm Road to Woburn Road junction.

This temporary closure is required to enable overhead joining and tree cutting works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 28 April 2025 to 2 May 2025 between the hours of 9am and 3:30pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Woburn Road, Hardwick Road, Bow Brickhill Road, Woburn Sands Road, Church Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 28 April 2025 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(CLOPHILL ROAD, MAULDEN AND THE GREEN, CLOPHILL)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Clophill Road, Maulden between Bedford Road and Woodland Gardens and The Green, Clophill between Bedford Road to outside number 16.

This temporary closure is required to enable ducting works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place on 13 April 2025 between the hours of 8am and 3:30pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via The Causeway, A507, C100 and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 13 April 2025 for a period of one month or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Fordfield Road, Millbrook outside Grey Gables.

This temporary closure is required to enable duct installation work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place on 14 April 2025 between the hours of 9:30am and 3:30pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via A507, A5120, Steppingley Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 14 April 2025 for a period of one month or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Sandhill Close, Millbrook outside number 39.

This temporary closure is required to enable duct installation works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place on 15 April 2025 between the hours of 9:30am and 3:30pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Station Road, Marston Road, High Street, A507 and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 15 April 2025 for a period of one month or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(ASPLEY END ROAD AND HANSCOMBE END ROAD, SHILLINGTON AND LOWER GRAVENHURST, GRAVENHURST)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency,, from proceeding along the length of Aspley End Road, Shillington from junction with Hanscombe End Road to junction with access to Kettledean Farm; Hanscombe End Road, Shillington from Higham Road to Aspley End Road and from Lower Gravenhurst, Gravenhurst to Higham Road; Lower Gravenhurst, Gravenhurst at the junction with Hanscombe End Road, Shillington southbound only.

This temporary closure is required to enable mains laying works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place on the following dates:

i. Aspley End Road from 3rd November 2025 to 11th May 2026 for 24hrs a day

ii. Hanscombe End Road from 27th May 2025 to 3rd November 2025

iii. Hanscombe End Road from 14th April 2025 to 26th May 2025 iv. Lower Gravenhurst from 14th April 2025 to 27th May 2025

The roads will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative routes for this closure are:

i. Grove Lane, Hitchin Road and Hexton Road

ii. High Road, Upton End Road, Bury Road and Hanscombe End Road

iii. Hanscombe End Road, Hillfoot Road and High Road iv. Lower Gravenhurst

The Order will come into operation on 14 April 2025 for a period of twelve months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

Notice of Making of Public Path Order CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(STEPPINGLEY: PART OF FOOTPATH NO. 1)

PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION ORDER 2025

The above Order made on 4 April 2025 under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980 will divert part of Footpath No. 1, Steppingley.

The length of Footpath No. 1, Steppingley to be stopped up extends from its junction with an unaffected part of Footpath No. 1, Steppingley at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 0136 3598 in a north-easterly direction for approximately 566 metres to terminate at its junction with Fordfield Road at OS GR TL 0177 3637.

The footpath is stopped up across its full width.

The length of Footpath No. 1, Steppingley to be created extends from its junction with an unaffected part of Footpath No. 1, Steppingley at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 0136 3598 in a north-north-westerly direction for approximately 8 metres to OS GR TL 0136 3599 then continues in a generally north-easterly direction across a bridge for approximately 215 metres to OS GR TL 0151 3613 then continues in a generally north-easterly direction around the bottom of the banked sides of the lake for approximately 95 metres to OS GR TL 0158 3619 then continues in a generally north-northeasterly direction for approximately 111 metres to OS GR TL 0162 3629 then continues in a north-easterly direction along a surfaced track for approximately 168 metres to terminate at its junction with Footpath No. 26, Millbrook and the Millbrook-Steppingley parish boundary at OS GR TL 0176 3637.

The new route of the footpath has a width of 2 metres. The length of Footpath No. 26, Millbrook to be created extends from its junction with Footpath No. 1, Steppingley and the Millbrook-Steppingley parish boundary at OS GR TL 0176 3637 in a generally north-north-easterly direction for approximately 38 metres to terminate at its junction with Fordfield Road at OS GR TL 0177 3640.

The new route of the footpath has a width of 2 metres.

Any representations about or objections to the Order may be sent in writing to the Highway Assets Intelligence Team Leader, Central Bedfordshire Council Highways, Priory House, Monks Walk, Chicksands, Shefford, SG17 5QT or definitivemap@centralbedfordshire.gov.uk not later than 15 May 2025. Please state the grounds on which they are made. Representations and objections must include either a postal or e mail address. Any representations or objections made will be in the public domain and will be available for viewing/ copying by members of the public.

If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, the Central Bedfordshire Council may confirm the Order as an unopposed Order. If the Order is sent to the Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for confirmation any representations and objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the Order and will be made publicly available by either the Council or the Planning Inspectorate.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(HOUGHTON CONQUEST: FOOTPATH NO. 12, AND PARTS OF FOOTPATH NO. A9 AND NO. A10)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER  2025

Notice is hereby given that Central Bedfordshire Council have made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any person proceeding on foot along the length of public Footpath No. 12, Houghton Conquest which extends from Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 0460 4242 to OS GR TL 0462 4280, part of public Footpath No. A9 which extends from OS GR TL 0462 4280 to OS GR TL 0470 4291, and part of public Footpath No. A10 which extends from OS GR TL 0480 4257 to OS GR TL 0418 4320.

This temporary closure is required to ensure safety whilst site development works take place. The closure is expected to take place from 14th April 2025 for up to six months.

The alternative route for footpath users while the closure is in operation will be along the diverted path as provided by the developers, shown by the green line on the map.
