TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2025
Comhairle nan Eilean Siar proposes to make “The Comhairle nan Eilean Siar (Castlebay, Barra) (20mph & 30mph Speed Limit) Temporary Road Traffic Regulation Order 2025” under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The Order will apply between Monday 21st April 2025 and Monday 19th October 2026.
The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving or causing or permitting to be driven any vehicles on the following sections of road at a speed exceeding 20mph:
Castlebay road (A888) from a point 65m north west of the St Brendan’s Road junction and then in a easterly direction to a point 60m north west of the most westerly Glen Road junction, an overall distance of 1115m or thereby, St Brendan’s Road, Maol Domhnaich, Corran Cismaol, Horve Road, Ciosmul Cottages and Pier Road.
The Order will also prohibit any person from driving or causing or permitting to be driven any vehicles on the following section of road at a speed exceeding 30mph:
A888 road from a point 540m north west of the Nask junction and then in a southerly direction to a point 65m north west of the St Brendan Road junction, an overall distance of 820m or thereby.
