Public Notices for Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders
The following public notices were served on Thursday 10 April 2025:
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Milton Keynes City Council intends, in not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make the following temporary traffic regulation Order under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984:
PUBLIC NOTICE 1:
MILTON KEYNES CITY COUNCIL (VARIOUS REDWAYS AND ROADS WITHIN MILTON KEYNES – MK MARATHON AND ROCKET 5K EVENT) (TEMPORARY CLOSURES AND RESTRICTIONS) ORDER 2025 (Reference TTRO-2117)
The effect of the above Order will be to temporarily close various roads and Redways within Milton Keynes for the purpose of facilitating the holding of a relevant event, namely the Milton Keynes Marathon 2025, and Rocket 5K Event 2025. It is anticipated that the following temporary closures will be in effect on Sunday 04 May 2025 and Monday 5th May 2025.
Rocket 5K Event 2025 - Sunday 4th May 2025
The following lengths of road will be closed from 06:00 am to 09:10 am:
Midsummer Boulevard, Central Milton Keynes (both sides) - between Grafton Gate & Witan Gate;
Upper Second Street, Central Milton Keynes - Its entire length.
The following lengths of road will be closed from 08:30 am to 09:10 am:
Saxon Gate, Central Milton Keynes (both sides) - From its junction with Midsummer Boulevard to its junction with Childs Way.
The following lengths of road will be closed from 08:30 am to 09:20 am:
Childs Way (both sides) - From its junction with South Witan Roundabout to its junction with South Secklow Roundabout;
Saxon Street (both sides) - From its junction with H6 Childs Way to its junction with H7 Chaffron Way.
The following lengths of road will be closed from 08:30 am to 09:35 am:
Saxon Street (both sides) - From its junction with H7 Chaffron Way to its junction with H8 Standing Way.
The following lengths of road will be closed from 09:00 am to 09:30 am:-
Standing Way (both sides) - From its junction with Chapter/Medale Road to its junction with Hospital Roundabout.
Controlled Access will be maintained for blue lights, emergency services, and hospital staff with ID.
The following lengths of road will be closed from 08:30 am to 09:40 am:
Saxon Street (both sides) - From its junction with H8 Standing Way to its junction with H9 Groveway.
The following lengths of road will be closed from 09:00 am to 09:45 am:
Groveway (both sides) - From its junction with Redmoor Roundabout to its junction with Simpson Roundabout.
Controlled access will be maintained to the Blue Light Hub via Redmoor Roundabout.
The following lengths of road will be closed from 08:30 am to 10:00 am:
Saxon Street (both sides) - From its junction with H9 Groveway to its junction with H10 Bletcham Way
Access to Bramley Road from H10 Bletcham Way.
The above road closures will be removed once the final runner has passed and it is safe to do so.
MK Marathon Event 2025 - Monday 5th May 2024
The following lengths of road will be closed (during the times stated below):
From 05:30am to 16:30pm
Saxon Street from its junction with H10 Bletcham Way to its junction with H9 Groveway;
Access to Bramley Road will be via Bletcham Way.
Dawson Road between the redway and the junction with Saxon Street;
Clarke Road between the redway and the junction with Dawson Road.
From 09:00am to 10:30am
Saxon Street from its junction with H6 Childs Way to its junction with H7 Chaffron Way;
Childs Way from its junction with South Witan Roundabout to its junction with South Secklow Roundabout;
South Saxon Roundabout.
From 09:00am to 11:00am
Avebury Boulevard, Central Milton Keynes (both sides) from its junction with South Seventh Street to its junction with South Eighth Street;
Midsummer Boulevard, Central Milton Keynes (both sides) from its junction with Upper Fourth Street to its junction with Saxon Gate;
Silbury Boulevard, Central Milton Keynes (westbound) from its junction with Upper Fourth Street to its junction with North Eighth Street;
Saxon Gate, Central Milton Keynes (both sides) from its junction with Silbury Boulevard to its junction with H6 Childs Way;
Witan Gate, Central Milton Keynes (both sides) from its junction with Silbury Boulevard to its junction with Midsummer Boulevard;
The entire lengths of Upper Fourth Street and Upper Fifth Street, Central Milton Keynes.
From 08:30am to 10:30am
Saxon Street from its junction with H7 Chaffron Way to its junction with H8 Standing Way;
Chaffron Way from its junction with Rainbow Drive, Leadenhall, to its junction with Harrier Drive, Eaglestone;
Eaglestone Roundabout;
Golden Drive, Eaglestone, from its junction with Condor Close to its junction with Peregrine Close.
From 08:30am to 9:30am
Saxon Street from its junction with H8 Standing Way to its junction with H9 Groveway;
Groveway from its junction with Redmoor Roundabout to its junction with Simpson Roundabout;
Ashland Roundabout;
Controlled Access to the Blue Light Hub will be via Redmoor Roundabout.
From 08:30am to 14:00pm
Dodkin, Beanhill from its junction with V7 Saxon Street to a point in line with the boundary line of numbers 7 and 8 Dodkin;
Wastel, Beanhill from its junction with V7 Saxon Street to its junction with Perrydown;
Robins Hill, Coffee Hall from its junction with V7 Saxon Street to the loop.
From 09:00am to 09:30am
Coffee Hall Roundabout;
Standing Way from its junction with Chapter, Coffee Hall to its junction with Hospital Roundabout;
Controlled Access will be maintained for blue lights, emergency services, and hospital staff with ID via Bleak Hall roundabout.
From 09:00am to 13:30pm
The Green, Woughton-on-the-Green its entire length;
Newport Road, Woolstone from its junction with Marshalls Lane to its junction with Pattison Lane.
From 07:30am to 15:30pm
Simpson Road, Simpson from its junction with Hamner Road to its junction with Beales Lane.
From 07:30am to 16:00pm
Tewkesbury Lane, Monkston from its junction with Woodspring Court to its junction with St Bernadette’s school car park entrance;
Simpson Drive, Simpson from its junction with Simpson Road to its junction with Hamner Road;
Hamner Road, Simpson from its junction with Simpson Road to the Canal bridge;
Old Groveway, Simpson, its entire length;
Newington Gate, Ashland from its junction with Marlborough Street to its junction with Penhurst Crescent;
Penhurst Crescent, Ashland from its junction to Newington Gate to its junction with Southcott Way.
From 10:30am to 14:30pm
The junction of Landsborough Gate and Beaufort Drive;
The junction of Newington Gate and Milton Road;
The junction of Northfield Drive (northern entrance) and Tongwell Street;
The junction of Northfield Drive (southern entrance) and Tongwell Street;
Noon Layer Drive between Hensman Gate and Dalton Gate.
The following redway crossing points will be controlled between 09:00am and 16:00pm:
Lloyds, Coffee Hall;
Waterside, Pertree Bridge;
Frobisher Gate, Newlands;
Hobart Crescent, Willen Park;
Massie Close, Willen Park;
Hammond Crescent, Willen Park;
Abraham Close, Willen Park;
Peterborough Gate, Willen Park;
Portland Drive, Willen at its access to the Willen Pavillion;
Newport Road, Willen;
Milton Road, Willen;
Aldrich Drive, Willen
The access road leading to Oakgrove School car park;
Kilwinning Drive, Monkston.
Temporary traffic calming measures will be in place from 10:00am to 15:00pm:
Newport Road, Willen and its junction with Lindford Lane;
Milton Road, Willen and its junction with redway just south of St Mary Magdalene Church;
Willen Road, Milton Keynes Village, from its junction with Great Pasture and its junction with Finch Close.
The following temporary one-way traffic system will be in place from 09:00am to 14:00pm:
Newport Road, Woughton-on-the-Green, from its junction with The Green to its junction with H7 Chaffron Way northbound;
Newport Road, Woolstone, from its junction with Pattison Lane (south end) and Pattison Lane (north end) Northbound;
Whilst Saxon Street and Standing Way are closed, the following diversion routes will be signed for motorists:
From West to East (08:00am to 16:00pm)
Via V6 Grafton Street, Grafton Gate, H5 Portway and V8 Marlborough Street.
From West to East (08:00am to 16:00pm)
Via V8 Marlborough Street, H5 Portway, Grafton Gate and Grafton Street.
Access to the Hospital (09:00am to 09:30am)
Via V6 Grafton Street, Grafton Gate, H5 Portway and V8 Marlborough Street.
Emergency vehicles will be permitted access through Coffee Hall Roundabout.
The following porte cocheres will be closed to pedestrians from 08:30am to 11:00am:
Silbury Boulevard, Central Milton Keynes (both sides) (Between North Fourth Street and North Eighth Street);
Midsummer Boulevard, Central Milton Keynes (both sides) (Between Upper Fourth Street and Saxon Gate).
The following U-Turn manoeuvre ban will be disabled form 08:30am to 11:00am:
Avebury Boulevard, Central Milton Keynes – at its junction with Witan Gate.
The following roads will be no waiting during the event:
Dawson Road between the redway and the junction with Saxon Street;
Newport Road, Woolstone from its junction with Marshalls Lane to its junction with Pattison Lane;
St Stephens Drive, Bolbeck Park, from its junction with Bernay Gardens to its junction with Hobart Crescent;
Milton Road, Willen, from its junction with Linford Lane to its junction with the redway exit path just south of St Mary Magdalene Church;
The road closures and diversion routes will be published on the website at least one month before the event.
The above road closures will be removed once the final runner has passed and it is safe to do so.
There shall be no other exemptions from the provisions of the Order other than for emergency services vehicles on operational duties and those vehicles required in connection with the event.
Public Notices for Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders
The following public notices were served on Thursday 10 April 2025:
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Milton Keynes City Council has on 8 April 2025, made the following temporary traffic regulation Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984:
PUBLIC NOTICE 2:
MILTON KEYNES CITY COUNCIL (HIGH STREET, STOKE GOLDINGTON) (TEMPORARY CLOSURE) ORDER 2025 (Reference TTRO-2123)
The effect of the above temporary Order will be to temporarily close part of High Street, Stoke Goldington at its junction with Dag Lane, to enable City Fibre to carry out installation of duct.
The temporary closure will take effect on 22nd and 23rd April 2025 (9:30am – 4:30pm each day).
Whilst the above length of road is closed the alternative route will be via B526, Horton Road, Newport Road, Hanslope Road, Tathall End, Hanslope Park Road, Park Road, Long Street Road, Forest Road, Wootton Road, (and vice versa).
PUBLIC NOTICE 3:
MILTON KEYNES CITY COUNCIL (BOOKER AVENUE, BRADWELL COMMON) (TEMPORARY CLOSURE) ORDER 2025 (Reference TTRO-2135)
The effect of the above temporary Order will be to temporarily close part of Booker Avenue, Bradwell Common outside Number 42, to enable National Grid to carry out LV connection works.
The temporary closure will take effect from 28th April 2025 to 2nd May 2025 (24 Hours).
Whilst the above length of road is closed the alternative route will be via Booker Avenue, Stokenchurch Place, Ibstone Avenue (and vice versa).
PUBLIC NOTICE 4:
MILTON KEYNES CITY COUNCIL (STANDING WAY (PART), MILTON KEYNES) (TEMPORARY 40 MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2025 (Reference TTRO-2129)
The effect of the above Order will be to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Standing Way, Saxon Street and Marlborough Street (Eastbound) from its junction with Coffee Hall Roundabout to its junction with Hospital Roundabout, at a speed in excess of 40mph, whilst SGN carry out installation of a gas main.
The temporary 40mph speed restriction will be in effect from 28th April 2025 until 30th May 2025 and will only be in force when indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

Public Notices for Permanent Traffic Regulation Orders

PUBLIC NOTICE 5:
MILTON KEYNES CITY COUNCIL (BROOK END, NORTH CRAWLEY) (30MPH AND 40MPH SPEED RESTRICTIONS) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Milton Keynes City Council in exercise of its powers under Sections 84(1), (2) and (3), of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, proposes to make the above Traffic Regulation Order.
The general effect of the above proposed Order will be to extend the 30mph and 40mph speed restrictions on Brook End, North Crawley.
Milton Keynes City Council is now carrying out statutory consultation on the above proposal. Copies of the proposed Order, together with plans showing the general arrangements and a statement of reason, may be inspected on the Council’s website at:

Any representations or objections to the proposals, together with the grounds upon which they are made, must be made in writing and sent to the Council’s Traffic Regulation Order Team at Milton Keynes City Council, Civic Offices, 1 Saxon Gate East, Central Milton Keynes, MK9 3EJ, or by email to
quoting reference TRO-436 and to be received no later than 01 May 2025. Any representations received will be taken into consideration before the implementation of the scheme.
