ON-STREET AND OFF-STREET PARKING CHARGE REVISIONS

THE LONDON BOROUGH OF BARKING AND DAGENHAM (CHARGED-FOR PARKING PLACES AND FREE PARKING PLACES) AMENDMENT No. * ORDER 202*

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham in exercise of its powers under Sections 6, 32, 33, 35, 45, 46, 49 and 124 and Parts I to IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended (hereinafter called “the Act”) and of all other enabling legislation and powers and after consultation with the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis in accordance with Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Act propose to make the above Orders, the effect of which will be to introduce changes to the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham (Off-Street Parking Places) Order 2017, ”the Off-Street Order”, the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham (Charged-For Parking Places) Consolidation Order 2016, ”the Charged-For Order” and the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham (Free Parking Places, Loading Places and Waiting, Loading and Stopping Restrictions) Consolidation Order 2016, “the Free Order” as follows:

1. To substitute Schedule 1 to the Off-Street Order with Schedule 1 to this Notice.

2. To substitute Schedule 2 to the Off-Street Order with Schedule 2 to this Notice.

3. To substitute Schedule 4 to the Off-Street Order with Schedule 3 to this Notice.

4. To substitute Schedule 4 to the Charged-For Order with Schedule 4 to this Notice.

5. To substitute Schedule 7 to the Charged-For Order with Schedule 5 to this Notice.

6. To substitute Schedule 3 to the Free Order with Schedule 6 to this Notice.

7. To introduce Special Parking Waivers. An administration charge shall be issued and appended to Schedule 4 of the Off-Street Order as shown in Schedule 3 to this Notice and Schedule 4 of the Charged-For Order as shown in Schedule 4 to this Notice.

8. To introduce a charge for motorcycle parking in Pay by Phone bays to the Charged-For Order as shown in Schedule 5 to this Notice.

9. To introduce an annual Eco-tariff for parking waivers to the Charged-For Order as shown in Schedule 4 to this Notice.

10. To introduce Virtual Blue Badges. An administration charge for processing a Virtual Blue Badge shall be issued and appended to Schedule 4 of the Charged-For Order as shown in Schedule 4 to this Notice.

11. To introduce a charge for the overrun of a bay suspension to the Off-Street Order and the Charged-For Order as shown in Schedules 3 and 4 to this Notice.

A copy of the draft Orders, a statement of the Council’s reasons for proposing the Orders and the existing charges are available to view on the Council's website by visiting the following webpage https://www.lbbd.gov.uk/parking/parking-area and selecting ‘New and proposed traffic and parking schemes’ or available for inspection at the Adult Library, First Floor, Barking Learning Centre, Barking between the hours of 9.00am and 4.00pm Monday to Friday.

Any objections and other representations to the proposed Orders must be made in writing stating the grounds on which they are made and sent for the attention of Sarah Marriott-Carle to the address below, within 21 days from the date of publication of this Notice or by visiting the council website and following the link below:
