What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
SECTION 14 (1) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION
OF THROUGH TRAFFIC
HOWL GATE, HIGH CATTON
Notice is hereby given that East Riding of Yorkshire
Council intends not less than seven days from the
date of this notice to make an Order, the effect of
which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding
along Howl Gate, High Catton from the junction of
Newbridge Lane to approximately 115 metres West
commencing 28 April 2025 to excavate and install
new PRV and water main set up to enable flows from a
new reservoir. The road closure is necessary to enable
the works to be carried out in a manner consistent
with ensuring the safety of the public.
The Order is valid for 18 months, but it is anticipated
that the works will be completed by 6 May 2025.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the road
closure will be via Howl Gate, Mitchell Lane,
High Catton Road, Church Road, Moor Road,
Newbridge Lane and vice versa.
The diversion route will be signed at the time of
closure.
The road will be closed to all traffic but access will be
maintained for emergency vehicles, residents and
pedestrians. Further information can be obtained by
