Rochdale Proposed Construction Of Road Humps

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Rochdale Borough Council, in exercise of its powers under Section 90A(1) of Part V of the Highways Act 1980 and of all other enabling powers intend to construct road humps in the form of raised flat-top and round-top humps, junction plateaux, and speed cushions of dimensions and at the locations referred to in the Schedule below.

Plans showing the locations of road humps so specified and a copy of the Statement of Reasons for proposing to construct may be viewed on the Council's website www.rochdale.gov.uk/roads, or by phoning Highways on 0300 303 8879 to request a copy via post.

Any representations regarding the proposals, stating the grounds on which they are made, must be made in writing and forwarded to trafficorders@rochdale.gov.uk or, alternatively, to Network Management, Floor 2, Number One Riverside, Smith Street, Rochdale, OL16 1XU to reach the Council on or before 30th April 2025, quoting H60/1419/RHN2.

Manchester Road (Old Section), centred around a point:- Circa 17 metres south-west of its junction with Burnaby Street

Circa 5 metres north-east of its easterly junction with Bertie Street

Circa 66 metres south-west of its junction with Oberlin Street 

Circa 5 metres north-east of its junction with Oberlin Street

Round-Top Road Humps
Height 75mm

Manchester Road (Old Section), centred around a point:-
Circa 84 metres north-east of its junction with Oberlin Street

Junction Plateaux
Length variable (as specified below), Height 75mm

Junction of Manchester Road (Old Section) and Law Street extending along Manchester Road (Old Section) from a point circa 3 metres west of its junction with Law Street for a distance of 12 metres in an easterly direction, and extending into Law Street from Manchester Road (Old Section) for a distance of circa 6 metres in a northerly direction

Junction of Manchester Road (Old Section) and Sparth Bottoms Road
extending along Manchester Road (Old Section) from a point circa 2 metres south of its junction with Sparth Bottoms Road for a distance of 12 metres in a northeasterly direction, and extending into Sparth Bottoms Road from Manchester Road (Old Section) for a distance of circa 9 metres in a westerly direction

Speed Cushions
Pairs or singular as detailed, Height 75mm

Circa 62 metres north-east of its junction with Castle Hill Crescent (single)

Circa 141 metres north-east of its junction with Castle Hill Crescent (pair)
