Cumberland, Multiple Temporary Road Closures Due To Highway Works

What is happening?

CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (C1025 BEWCASTLE, C1006 NEAR EASTON, C1028 NEAR GISSLAND, C1025 NEAR KERSHOEFOOT AND B5299 BUCKABANK TO WELTON) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable highway works to be carried out (“the Works”), Cumberland Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the lengths of road specified in the attached Schedule.

Suitable diversion routes will be indicated on site by the display of relevant traffic signs as and when the temporary closures are in place. A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

The Order will come into operation on 7 April 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, it is anticipated that the Works will be carried out within a 3 month period from 7 April 2025 and the roads will only be closed as and when the Works are being carried out and as such, when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. The Works will not necessarily be done in numerical order

SCHEDULE

EXTENT OF RESTRICTIONS AND ALTERNATIVE ROUTES

  1. C1025 Bewcastle (Ref: TTROCI/14059)

    From its junction with the U1036, extending in an overall westerly direction for approx. 970m.

    Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the C1025 and B6318.

  2. C1006 Near Easton (Ref: TTROC/14061)

    From its junction with the U1016, extending in a south westerly direction for approx. 710m.

    Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the C1006, C1007, C1004 and C1005.

  3. C1028 Near Gisland (Ref: TTROC/14066)

    From its junction with the B6318, extending in an overall south westerly direction for approx. 3.3 km

    Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the C1028, C1025 and B6318.

  4. C1025 Near Kershopefoot (Ref: TTROC/14069)

    From its junction with the C1004, extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 1.3km.

    Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the C1004, B6318, C1008, C1007 and C1025.

  5. B5299 Buckabank to Welton (Ref: TTROC/14071)

    From its junction with U2163, extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 4.6 km

    Alternative Route: via the B5299, A595 and B5305.
