TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2025
Sunderland City Council gives notice that it intends to make two Orders under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which is to temporarily prohibit all pedestrian traffic from the sections of footways and associated footpaths described in the schedules below. The Orders are required to allow for maintenance works to the gas main. The orders will come into force on 16th May 2025. The maximum duration of the closure under the Orders will be six months. However, it is anticipated that the works will take approximately three weeks. All pedestrians will be prohibited from the section of footways and footpaths described in the schedule (except for personnel involved in the works), until the works are completed or at such times and to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the display of traffic signs. Alternative routes will be provided.
Cotherstone Court Area Schedule: From the extended northwestern property boundary of 16 Cotherstone Court to its junction with Eggleston Drive; and From the northeastern property boundary of 16 Cotherstone Court to the extended party property boundary of 35 and 37 Bollihope Drive.
Melgarve Drive Schedule: Melgarve Drive - from the extended party property boundary of 9 and 10 Melgarve Drive for a distance of 46 metres in a predominantly south-westerly direction; and Melgarve Drive – the footpaths along the entire north-eastern and north-western property boundary of 24 Melgarve Drive.
