Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984,
makes or intends to make the following Orders.
MAIDSTONE AREA
A20 London Road, Aylesford (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow gas main works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of A20 London Road, Aylesford, on or after 18th April 2025 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.
A No Right-Turn will be imposed on A20 London Road at the junction of Hermitage Lane. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via A20 London Road, A20 Coldharbour Roundabout, A20 London Road.
A229 Loose Road, Loose, ME15 9UU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow zebra crossing installation to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of A229 Loose Road, Loose, on or after 15th April 2025 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions of Copper Tree Court and Walnut Tree Avenue, during the hours of 23:00 and 06:00 from the 16th April 2025 to 17th April 2025 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via A229 Loose Road, A229 Linton Road, B2163 Heath Road, B2163 Plough Wents Road, A274 Sutton Road, A229 Loose Road and vice versa.
B2010 High Street, Yalding ME18 6HY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow 80th Anniversary VE Day street party to be held, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of B2010 High Street, Yalding, on or after 4th May 2025 for up to 1 day or until the event has been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions of B2162 Benover Road and Vicarage Road, between the hours of 12:00 and 23:59 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
Alternative route (1) for any through traffic is via Vicarage Road, Mill Lane, B2162 Benover Road and vice versa.
Alternative route (2) for any through traffic is via B2162 Benover Road, B2162 Hampstead Lane, B2015 Maidstone Road, Bow Bridge, Bow Hill, Kenward Road and vice versa.
Bank Street, Maidstone (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow new gas service installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Bank Street, Maidstone, on or after 15th April 2025 for up to 11 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside The Stag Public House. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Mill Street, High Street, Gabriels Hill.
Church Lane, Bearsted, ME14 4BF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow drainage cleaning works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Church Lane, Bearsted, on or after 14th April 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junction of Danefield Court to The Coach House. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
There is no alternative route for any through traffic and access will be maintained when it is safe to do so.
Church Lane, Bicknor ME9 8BJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow water chamber exchange works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Church Lane, Bicknor, on or after 29th April 2025 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside Hawthorns. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Kennel Barn Road, Hazel Street, Admiral Road, Church Lane and vice versa.
Cox Street, Detling ME14 3HD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Cox Street, Detling, on or after 30th April 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside Reed’s Wood. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Scragged Oak Road, White Hill Road, Cox Street and vice versa.
Cox Street, Stockbury ME9 7UX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Cox Street, Stockbury, on or after 1st May 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside Woodpeckers. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Magpie Lane, Yaugher Lane, Yelsted Road, Yelsted Lane, Cox Street and vice versa.
Five Oak Lane, Staplehurst, TN12 0HU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow ducting installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Five Oak Lane, Staplehurst, on or after 17th April 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside Laurels Barn, between the hours of 09:00 and 16:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Five Ash Lane, Pagehurst Road, Marden Thorn, Wilden Park Road, Five Oak Lane and vice versa.
Forge Lane & Chapel Lane, Bredhurst ME7 3JR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow fibre cable installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Forge Lane & Chapel Lane, Bredhurst, on or after 2nd May 2025 for up to 7 days or until the works have been completed.
The roads will be closed from Dunn Street Road to property The Haven, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Dunn Street Road, Dunn Street, Lidsing Road, Forge Lane and vice versa.
Furfield Chase, Boughton Monchelsea ME17 4GB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow manhole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Furfield Chase, Boughton Monchelsea, on or after 1st May 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from the junction of Thomas Rider Way, between the hours of 19:00 and 06:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
There is no alternative route for any through traffic and access will be maintained when it is safe to do so.
Hill Green Road, Stockbury (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Hill Green Road, Stockbury, on or after 28th April 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside Orchard Dene, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Cradles Road, Lower Hartlip Road, Yelsted Road, Hill Green Road and vice versa.
Kent County Showground Events (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING, NO RIGHT-TURN, TEMPORARY SPEED RESTRICTION & NO WAITING RESTRICTION) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow events to be held at the Kent County Showground, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on Various Roads in Maidstone.

The following restrictions will be imposed only on the event dates listed above.
Speed Restrictions
It will be necessary to impose mandatory temporary speed limits on the following roads:
•
Traffic in excess of 40mph shall be prohibited from Detling Diner A249 to the top of Detling Hill, with 50mph from Detling Diner A249 to the right turn into Detling Industrial Estate and 40mph from there to the top of Detling on the southwest bound carriageway of A249 Detling Hill.
•
Traffic in excess of 40mph shall be prohibited on the northbound carriageway of A249 Detling Hill from Pilgrims Way to the Detling Industrial Estate turn off.
•
Traffic in excess of 30mph shall be prohibited on Scragged Oak Road, Detling.
•
Traffic in excess of 50mph shall be prohibited on the northbound carriageway of Detling Hill/Sittingbourne Road between the existing permanent 50mph speed restriction 407 metres north east of its junction with Scragged Oak Road to the Detling Aerodrome Approach Road.
Prohibition of Right-hand Turn
Vehicles will be prohibited from turning right, expect upon the direction of a police officer, cause or permit a vehicle to turn right, on the following roads:
•
Carry out a right hand turn from A249 south west bound into Scragged Oak Road.
•
Carry out a right hand turn from Scragged Oak Road onto the A249 south west bound.
•
Carry out a right hand turn from A249 northbound into South Green Lane.
•
Carry out a right hand turn or “U” turn on the A249 northbound at its junction with Rumstead Lane.
•
Carry out a right hand turn from A249 southbound into Bimbury Lane.
•
Carry out a right hand turn from A249 southbound into Chalky Road.
•
Carry out a right hand turn from A249 southbound into Church Hill.
•
Carry out a right hand turn from A249 southbound into Honeycrock Hill.
No Waiting Restriction
•
Prohibit waiting and stopping on A249 Detling Hill.
Lane Closure
•
Lane Closure will be imposed between the exit of Detling Showground and the Shell Petrol Station.
Lidsing Road, Lidsing ME7 3NH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow fibre cable installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Lidsing Road, Lidsing, on or after 28th April 2025 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from the junction of Old Lidsing Road to the junction of Forge Lane, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic approaching on Lidsing Road is via Lidsing Road, Dunn Street, Dunn Street Road, Forge Lane and vice versa.
The alternative route for any through traffic approaching from Westfield Sole Road is via Westfield Sole Road, Walderslade Woods, Boxley Road, Yelsted Lane, Lidsing Road and vice versa.
Lower Road, Sutton Valence, ME17 3AR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow drainage improvement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Lower Road, Sutton Valence, on or after 15th April 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the Clothmakers Arms Public House and the junction of South Lane. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via South Lane, High Street, Lower Road and vice versa.
Mill Street, Loose ME15 0ED (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow drainage improvement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Mill Street, Loose, on or after 30th April 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions of Busbridge Road and Bridge Street. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Bridge Street, Church Street, High Banks, Mill Street and vice versa.
Salts Lane, Boughton Monchelsea (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow blockage clearance works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Salts Lane, Boughton Monchelsea, on or after 28th April 2025 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside Salts Farm Cottages. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Salts Lane, Old Loose Hill, A229 Linton Road, B2163 Heath Road, Hubbards Lane, Slats Lane and vice versa.
Whitehall Road, Thurnham (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Whitehall Road, Thurnham, on or after 2nd May 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside Whitehall, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
There is no alternative route for any through traffic and access will be maintained when it is safe to do so.
White Hill Road, Bredhurst ME14 3HN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow ducting installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of White Hill Road, Bredhurst, on or after 5th May 2025 for up to 19 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from the junction of Kemsley Street Road and Scragged Oak Road, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via White Hill Road, Cox Street, Magpie Lane, Yaugher Lane, Matts Hill, Matts Hill Lane, Matts Hill Road and vice versa.
Woodside Green, Lenham (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow tree cutting works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Woodside Green, Lenham, on or after 15th April 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside Midsummer Cottage. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Woodside Green, Faversham Road, A20 Ashford Road, Hubbards Hill, Warren Street, Payden Street, Woodside Green and vice versa.
