What is happening?
Highways
Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
DOVER AREA
Beacon Lane, Woodnesborough, CT13 0PP (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Beacon Lane, Woodnesborough, on or after 28th April 2025 for up to 6 hours or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from the junction of Drainless Road for approximately 727m in a Northeasterly direction, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Beacon Lane, Drainless Road, Foxborough Hill and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Bowling Street, Sandwich, CT13 9EZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Bowling Street, Sandwich, on or after 30th April 2025 for up to 6 hours or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only, from the junction of Strand Street for approximately 76m in a Southwesterly direction, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Strand Street, Church Street St Mary, Vicarage Lane, Bowling Street and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Cop Street Road, Ash, CT3 2DP (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Cop Street Road, Ash, on or after 14th April 2025 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside Upper Goldstone Farm, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Cop Street Road, Cop Street, A257 Ash Bypass, Knell Lane, Richborough Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Lister Close, Deal, CT14 9UT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Lister Close, Deal, on or after 14th April 2025 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed at the junction with Park Avenue, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
There is no alternative route. Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents whenever it is safe to do so.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Lower Street, Tilmanstone, CT14 0JD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Lower Street, Tilmanstone, on or after 14th April 2025 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside Kookaburra, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
There is no alternative route. Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents whenever it is safe to do so.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Mongeham Road, Ripple, CT14 8JF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Mongeham Road, Ripple, on or after 14th April 2025 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside Yorkletts, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Mongeham Road, Sutton Road, Beacon Hill, Willow Road, Northbourne Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Queens Road, Ash, CT3 2AX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Queens Road, Ash, on or after 28th April 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 64, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Chequer Lane, Chilton Field, Queens Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Station Road, St Margarets At Cliffe (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow highway improvement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Station Road, St Margarets At Cliffe, on or after 14th April 2025 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions of A258 Deal Road and Victory Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Station Road, A258 Deal Road, Dover Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Stockdale Gardens, Deal, CT14 9BW (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Stockdale Gardens, Deal, on or after 28th April 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 7, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Stockdale Gardens, B2056 Hamilton Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
The Street, Sholden, CT14 0AH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of The Street, Sholden, on or after 30th April 2025 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside Sholden Farmhouse, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Sholden New Road, A258 London Road, The Street and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Thornton Lane, Eastry, CT13 0EU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Thornton Lane, Eastry, on or after 14th April 2025 for up to 9 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside April Lodge, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Heronden Road, Mill Lane, Lower Street, Pike Road, Thornton Road, Thornton Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Upper Strand Street, Sandwich, CT13 0WU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Upper Strand Street, Sandwich, on or after 28th April 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 9, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Upper Strand Street, Knightrider Street, The Quay, High Street and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Warren Lane, Lydden & Ewell Minnis (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Warren Lane, Lydden & Ewell Minnis, on or after 17th April 2025 for up to 6 hours or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from the junction of Belsey Lane for approximately 2000m Eastwards, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Warren Lane, Slip Lane, Alkham Valley Road, Alkham Road, London Road, Canterbury Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Wingham Well Lane, Wingham Well (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Wingham Well Lane, Wingham Well, on or after 30th April 2025 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside Ovendens, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Wingham Well Lane, A257 Canterbury Road, B2046 High Street, B2046 Adisham Road, Snakes Hill and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Various Roads, Wootton (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow Lydden Hill Race Circuit to take place, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Various Roads, Wootton.
Restrictions will be imposed to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
Closures will be imposed from 19th April 2025, with estimated completion by 21st April 2025.
Denton Lane will be closed the entire length, between the hours of 07:00 and 13:00 only.
Shelvin Lane will be closed from the entrance of AB Crush Panelcraft to the junction of Dumbrill Hill, between the hours of 07:00 and 13:00 only.
Geddinge Lane will be closed the entire length, between the hours of 07:00 and 13:00 only and between the hours of 16:30 and 17:00 only.
Side Hills will be closed the entire length, between the hours of 07:00 and 13:00 only.
Wooton Lane will be closed the entire length, between the hours of 07:00 and 13:00 only.
Closures will be imposed from 8th November 2025, with estimated completion by 9th November 2025.
Closures will be between the hours of 07:00 and 18:00 only on 8th November 2025 and between the hours of 07:00 and 13:00 only.
Denton Lane will be closed the entire length, between the hours of 07:00 and 13:00 only.
Shelvin Lane will be closed from the entrance of AB Crush Panelcraft to the junction of Dumbrill Hill.
Geddinge Lane will be closed the entire length.
Side Hills will be closed the entire length.
Wooton Lane will be closed the entire length.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via A260 Canterbury Road, A260 The Street, A260 Canterbury Road, A260 Old Dover Road, A2046 Box Iron Road, A2 Barham Slip Eastbound On and A2 Dover Road.
