Curzon Street, Ridley Street & Whitehall Road, Bensham - Temporary Prohibit Vehicles to Facilitate Works Being Carried Out in the Highway to Replace a Bt Frame and Cover
What is happening?
THE BOROUGH COUNCIL OF GATESHEAD (CURZON STREET, RIDLEY STREET & WHITEHALL ROAD, BENSHAM) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Borough Council of Gateshead proposes to make an Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Curzon Street (No’s 1-11), Ridley Street (No’s 4-14) and Whitehall Road Back (No’s 224-248) Back from a point 15 metres southwest of its junction with Curzon Street in a south-westerly direction for a distance of 8 metres.
The Order is required to facilitate works being carried out in the highway to replace a BT frame and cover.
The Order will come into force on 22 April 2025. The maximum duration of the Order will be 18 months; however, the works are expected to be completed 25 April 2025.
During the works all vehicles (except vehicles associated with the works and emergency service vehicles on duty) will be prohibited from proceeding along the above road until the works are completed or at such times and to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the display of traffic signs.
During the works there will be a signed diversion in place.
