What is happening?

Kirklees Council
(Traffic Regulation) (Consolidation Order Providing On-Street Parking Places, Waiting, Loading And Stopping Restrictions And Migration To A ‘Map-Based’ Format) Order 2024 (Amendment No. 04) Order 2025

Byram Street, Church Street, Cloth Hall Street, John William Street, Kirkgate, Market Street, St Peter’s Street, Station Street, Wood Street, Huddersfield

The Council of the Borough of Kirklees propose to make the above Order under their powers in the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which, as it affects lengths of road in the Huddersfield areas of the Kirklees district, will be to:

(i) Prohibit the waiting of vehicles at any time on lengths of the following roads:-
1. John William Street

2. St Peter’s Street

3. Byram Street

4. Wood Street

(ii) Prohibit the waiting or loading and unloading of vehicles at any time on a length of the following roads:-
1. John William Street

2. Wood Street

3. Cloth Hall Street

4. Kirkgate

(iii) To create disabled parking bays, which will operate at all times on lengths of the following roads:-
1. Byram Street

2. Wood Street

3. Market Street

4. Cloth Hall Street

(iv) To create loading bays, which will operate at all times on lengths of the following roads:-

1. Byram Street

2. Wood Street

(v) To create a loading bay, which will operate between the hours of 08:00 – 18:00 on a length of Cloth Hall Street

(vi) Modify the existing No Waiting at Any Time restrictions on lengths of the following roads:-

1. Wood Street

2. St Peter’s Street

(vii) Modify the existing No Waiting at Any Time of No Loading/Unloading at Any Time restrictions on lengths of the following roads:- 

1. Wood Street

2. Kirkgate

(viii) To revoke certain items in the Kirklees Council (Traffic Regulation) (Consolidation Order Providing On-Street Parking Places, Waiting, Loading and Stopping Restrictions and Migration to a ‘Map-Based’ Format) Order 2024 which will be redundant when certain parts of the restrictions referred to above are introduced

If you wish to object to the proposed Order, you should send the grounds for your objection to:
