DISABLED PERSONS PARKING PLACES – SCHEDULE 243

The Croydon (Prohibition and Restriction of Stopping, Loading and Waiting) and (Free Parking Places) (No. 9) Order 2025

The Croydon (On-Street Charged-For Parking Places) (No. 9) Order 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Croydon Council on 31 March 2025 made the above Traffic Orders under section 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended and all other enabling powers.

  1. The general effect of the Orders will be to:

    a) Revoke the disabled parking places in the vicinity of No. 67 Coniston Road, Croydon, No. 3 Fairlands Avenue, Thornton Heath, No. 74 Isham Road, Norbury, No. 217 Portland Road, South Norwood, No. 1 Watcombe Road, South Norwood, and No. 51 Wharfedale Gardens, Thornton Heath.

b) Designate new parking places at which vehicles displaying a disabled persons’ badge may be left without charge or time limit in the following locations.

Albert Road, South Norwood

Partially outside Nos. 13 and 15 (Replaces one space in a permit/payment bay)

Beverstone Road, Thornton Heath

Outside No. 35

Chartham Road, Croydon

c) Amend the map-based tiles to the Schedule attached to the above Orders to accurately represent the new parking arrangements as they exist on site.

  1. Copies of the Orders, which will come into operation on 07 April 2025 and of all associated Orders can be inspected between 9am and 4pm, Monday to Friday inclusive, until the last day of a period of six weeks beginning with the date on which the Orders are made or, as the case may be, the Council decides not to make the Orders, by appointment with the Parking Design Team, 3rd Floor, Zone C, Bernard Weatherill House, 8 Mint Walk, Croydon, CR0 1EA (telephone 020 8726 6000 and ask for Parking Design). Alternatively all related documents or further information can be requested by email to Parking.Design@croydon.gov.uk.

  2. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained therein on the ground that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made there under have not been complied with in relation to the Orders may, within six weeks of the date on which the Orders were made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT, 1984, SECTION 14

AS AMENDED AND THE ROAD TRAFFIC (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT 1991

BEECH AVENUE, SOUTH CROYDON

TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC

  1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate sewer connection works, they have made an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict traffic on Beech Avenue, South Croydon.

  2. Whilst the said works are taking place Beech Avenue will be closed at its junction with Purley Downs Road.

  3. During the work the diversion route for traffic will be via Purley Oaks Road, Downsway, Purley Downs Road and vice versa.

  4. The Order will come into operation on 07 April 2025, and it is anticipated that the works will be completed on 14 April 2025. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required.

  5. These restrictions shall not apply in respect of:

    (a) any vehicle involved in carrying out the said work.

    (b) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.

    (c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT, 1984, SECTION 14

AS AMENDED AND THE ROAD TRAFFIC (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT 1991

CALLEY DOWN CRESCENT, NEW ADDINGTON

TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC

  1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate gas main replacement work by SGN, they have made an Order, the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict traffic in Calley Down Crescent, New Addington.

  2. Whilst the said works are taking place, Calley Down Crescent will be closed at the locations detailed below.

    a) At its junction with Arnhem Drive.

    b) Outside Nos. 37 to 39 Calley Down Crescent.

    c) The east to west arm of Calley Down Crescent (located between Nos. 37 and 39) between its junction with the north to south arm of Calley Down Crescent and its junction with Windham Avenue.

  3. Whilst the closures are in operation the alternative routes for traffic will be as detailed below and appropriately signed.

    • Closure at Arnhem Drive junction – Via Arnhem Drive, King Henrys Drive, Calley Down Crescent.

    • Closure at east to west arm of Calley Down Crescent – Via King Henrys Drive, Windham Avenue or King Henrys Drive, Arnhem Drive.

    1. The Order will come into operation on 07 April 2025, and it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 30 May 2025. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required.

    2. These restrictions shall not apply in respect of:

      (a) any vehicle involved in carrying out the said work.

      (b) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.

      (c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

    THE ROAD TRAFFIC (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT 1991

    AND ALL OTHER ENABLING POWERS

    CHURCH WAY, SOUTH CROYDON

    TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC

    1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate new gas connection works by SGN, they have made an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict vehicular traffic movements in Church Way, South Croydon.

    2. Whilst the said works are taking place Church Way will be closed at the rear of No. 9 Addington Road.

    3. During the closure, the alternative route for diverted traffic will be via Arkwright Road, Upper Selsdon Road, Addington Road and reversed, as appropriately signposted.

    4. The Order will come into operation on 07 April 2025, and it is anticipated that the work will be carried out in five days. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required.

    5. The restriction shall not apply in respect of:

      (a) any vehicle involved in carrying out the said work.

      (a) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.

      (c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

    CROYDON COUNCIL

    ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT, 1984, SECTION 14

    AS AMENDED AND THE ROAD TRAFFIC (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT 1991

    COOMBE LANE & SUNKEN ROAD, CROYDON

    TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC

    1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate tram track works at the level crossing on behalf of TfL, they have made an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict traffic in Coombe Lane and Sunken Road, Croydon.

    2. Whilst the said works are taking place:

      a) The carriageway of Coombe Lane will be closed between its junctions with Shirley Hills Road and Ballards Way from 04 to 24 April 2025.

      b) The footway of Coombe Lane will be closed within the above carriageway closure area from 04 to 24 April 2025.

      c) Sunken Road will be closed to vehicular traffic on 08 April 2025 (from 6am to 6pm) and on 15 April 2025 (from 6am to 7pm).

    3. During the closure, the alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via Coombe Road, Park Hill Road, Chepstow Road, Addiscombe Road, Shirley Road, Wickham Road, High Street, Glebe Way, Addington Road, Kent Gate Way and Gravel Hill. Pedestrians will be diverted via Shirley Hills Road and Sunken Road.

    4. The Order will come into operation on 04 April 2025, and it is anticipated that the works will be completed on 24 April 2025. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required.

    5. The restriction will not apply in respect of:

      (a) any vehicle involved in carrying out the said works.

      (b) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.
