Stanifield Lane - Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic
What is happening?

(A5083 STANIFIELD LANE, LOSTOCK HALL, SOUTH RIBBLE BOROUGH) (TEMPORARY ONE WAY PROHIBITION) (TEMPORARY SPEED RESTRCITION) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council have made an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. To temporarily prohibit traffic travelling southbound on that length on A5083 Stanifield Lane, Lostock Hall from its junction with A582 Lostock Lane to its junction with Stoney Lane.
This prohibition will allow traffic travelling northbound to access the A582 roundabout.
2. No person shall cause or permit any motor vehicle or cycle to exceed the speed of 30MPH on that length on A5083 Stanifield Lane, Lostock Hall from its junction with A582 Lostock Lane to its junction with Stoney Lane.
3. No speed limit imposed by this order applies to vehicles falling within regulation 3(4) of the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011 when used in accordance with regulation 3(5) of those Regulations.
4. Nothing in this order except article 2 shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
5. The prohibition will be operative from 0900 hours on Monday 31st March 2025 until 1500 hours on Friday 27th June 2025 or until completion of the works within this period.
6. There are no properties on this length of road to be affected so no access provisions will be required.
7. An alternative route for vehicular traffic wanting to travel southbound on A5083 Stanifield Lane is available via;
A582 Lostock Lane – A6 Lostock Lane – A49 Wigan Road – A5083 Lydiate Lane.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow LCC operations to construct of a new entrance to the proposed new cricket ground.
