Townhead Road - Temporary Road Closure
What is happening?
NORTH LANARKSHIRE COUNCIL
MONKLANDS HALF MARATHON, TOWNHEAD ROAD, COATBRIDGE (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2025
On 31 March 2025 the North Lanarkshire Council made the above-named Order under Section 16(A) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by Schedule 1 of the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, and in exercise of all other enabling powers, which makes it unlawful for any person to drive or cause or permit to be driven any motor vehicle (with the exception of vehicles engaged on Monklands Half Marathon) on Townhead Road, Coatbridge from its junction with Lochview Road to its junction with Lomond Road by reason of the planned event on or near that location.
Alternative routes: Vehicles on the north west side of the closure wishing to access the south east side of the closure should proceed on Lochview Road and Lomond Road to the south east side of the closure.
Vehicles on the south east side of the closure wishing to access the north west side of the closure should proceed vice versa.
Alternative routes will also be sign posted.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the closure.
The Order, will come into operation at 0915 hours on Sunday, 20th April 2025 and will remain in operation until 1130 hours on Sunday, 20th April 2025.
