What is happening?
LONDON BOROUGH OF WALTHAM FOREST (LBWF)
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(1)
THE WALTHAM FOREST (VARIOUS ROADS) (STRUCTURAL PROGRAMME) (VARIOUS MEASURES) (NO. 1) ORDER 2025
The Council of the LBWF HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that on 3rd April 2025 it made an Order to enable highway maintenance and lining works to be carried out in a safe and efficient manner.
The general effect of the Order will be, only at such times and to such extent as regulatory signs are displayed, to prohibit vehicles (except works vehicles) from entering, proceeding, waiting or loading for any purpose, at any time in:

No person shall cause or permit any vehicle to enter, proceed, wait or load for any purpose, at any time, within 30 metres of the junction of any road adjoining the roads or sections of roads contained in paragraph 2 above.
Whilst works are being carried out in any roads mentioned in paragraph 2 the one-way workings/no entry prohibitions for those sections of roads, or in any road adjoining those said sections of roads mentioned in paragraph 2 will be temporarily suspended.
Whilst the prohibitions referred to in paragraph 2 above remain in force, alternative routes for traffic would be indicated by traffic signs.
The Order will come into operation on 10th April 2025 and would be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works are completed, whichever is the sooner.
THE WALTHAM FOREST (THAMES WATER SEWER REPLACEMENT) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION) (LEA BRIDGE ROAD E10) (NO. 1) ORDER 2025
The Council of the LBWF HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that it intends on making an Order to allow for works associated with sewer replacement in Lea Bridge Road (Rd) to be carried out in a safe and efficient manner.
General effect of the Order would be, only at such times and to such extent as regulatory signs are displayed, to prohibit vehicles:
i) from waiting or loading in Lea Bridge Rd E10 (LBR) – (northwest side) between the common boundaries of Nos. 414/416 and Nos. 434/436; and
ii) travelling west to east in LBR – from making a left turn into Rochdale Rd E17.
The Order would come into operation on 13th April 2025 and would be valid for a maximum period of 3 months or until the works are completed, whichever is the sooner.
The works are expected to be completed within 1 day however the Order has been extended to allow for any contingencies.

THE WALTHAM FOREST (CADENT GAS NEW CONNECTIONS) (MONTALT ROAD IG8) (TEMPORARY MEASURES) (NO. 1) ORDER 2025
The Council of the LBWF HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that it intends on making an Order to allow for the replacement of the gas mains to be carried out in a safe and efficient manner by Cadent Gas.
The general effect of the Order would be, only at such times and to such extent as regulatory signs are displayed, to prohibit vehicles from entering, proceeding, waiting or loading for any purpose, in Montalt Road IG8 – between the common boundaries of Nos. 18/20 and Nos. 62/64.
The Order would come into operation on 22nd April 2025 and would be valid for a maximum period of 6 months or until the works are completed, whichever is the sooner.
The works are expected to be completed within 4 months, but additional time is required for contingencies.

THE WALTHAM FOREST (THAMES WATER NEW CONNECTION) (MELBOURNE ROAD E10 AND AUBREY ROAD E17) (TEMPORARY MEASURES) (NO. 1) ORDER 2025
The Council of the LBWF HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that it intends on making an Order to allow for works associated with setting up new water connections by Thames Water, to be carried out in a safe and efficient manner.
The general effect of the Order would be, only at such times and to such extent as regulatory signs are displayed, to prohibit vehicles from entering, proceeding, waiting or loading for any purpose, in:
(i) Aubrey Road E17 – between the common boundary of Nos. 61/62 and the north-facing wall of No. 52; and
(ii) Melbourne Road E10 (MLR) – between its junction with Lea Bridge Road and the northern boundary of No. 1 (MLR).
Whilst the restrictions referred to in paragraph 2(i) of this notice remain in force, and only at such times and to such extent as regulatory signs are displayed or, where applicable, covered the one-way working and no-entry prohibitions in Aubrey Road E17 would be temporarily suspended.
The Order would come into operation on 28th April 2025 and would be valid for a maximum period of 6 months or until the works are completed, whichever is the sooner. (Ref: TT15(25))
The works in Aubrey Road E17, and in Melbourne Road E10 are expected to be completed in 5 days, but additional time is required for contingencies.
THE WALTHAM FOREST (MAINS REPLACEMENT) (CADENT GAS) (FOREST SIDE E4) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITIONS) (NO. 1) ORDER 2025
The Council of LBWF HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that it intends on making an Order to enable gas mains replacement works by Cadent Gas, to be carried out in a safe and efficient manner in Forest Side.
The general effect of the Order would be, only at such times and to such extent as regulatory signs are displayed, to prohibit vehicles from entering, proceeding, waiting or loading for any purpose in:
i) Forest Side E4 (FTS) – between its junctions with Woodedge Close (WGC) and Whitehall Road (WHR);
ii) Forest Court E4 (FSC) – between its junction with FTS and a point 12 metres from the said junction; and
iii) Oakhurst Gardens E4 (OHG) – between its junction with FTS and the west facing wall of No.6 OHG
NOTE: the works in Forest Side will be carried out in sections as follows: (a) between its junctions with WGC and The Copse; (b) between the common boundary (cb) of Nos. 59/61 and its junction with FSC; and (c) between the cb of Nos. 23/27 and its junction with WHR.
Uncontrolled parking spaces situated in the roads affected by the measures mentioned in paragraph 2 above will be suspended.
The Order would come into operation on 28th April 2025 and would be valid for a maximum period of 6 months or until the works are completed, whichever is the sooner. (Ref: TT16(25))
The works are expected to be completed within 1 month, however the Order has been extended to allow for contingencies.
Vehicles waiting or loading in disregard of these Orders would be removed.
Any designated controlled parking spaces situated in the roads or parts of roads affected by any of the measures set out above will be suspended.
The prohibitions mentioned above would not apply in relation to any vehicle being used:
(a) in connection with the said works; or
(b) for ambulance, fire brigade or police purposes.
NOTE: These works would not be carried out simultaneously in all roads but in a sequence as directed by the Council. Signage will be placed in advance of any works in the above-mentioned roads which would give more specific details on the exact dates of the prohibitions, effects of any temporary traffic management and diversion routes as necessary.
