What is happening?
Essex County Council
(Footpath 61, Myland) (Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the above Order made by Essex County Council, under S14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) has been continued in force with the consent of the Secretary of State for the Department for Transport until the 06 June 2025.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close Footpath 61, Myland, in the City of Colchester from a point approximately 30 metres east of its junction with the A134 Northern Approach, eastwards for approximately 74 metres.
The closure came into effect on the 06 October 2024 and is required for the safety of the public and work force while works are carried out for the ongoing construction of an Elective Orthopaedic Centre.
The alternative route is Footpath 61, around the compound to a point where it joins the existing section of Footpath 61, and vice versa.
This Order may be further extended by the Secretary of State if a further extension is required.
(Integrated Cycle Track and Footpath 96, Colchester)
(Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended
Effect of the order: To temporarily close the integrated Cycle Track and Footpath 96, in the Borough of Colchester. Between Cowdray Avenue and Havering Close.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 14 April 2025 for one day or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce to enable a detailed structure examination on Bridge 1001.
No alternative route available.
The Order will come into effect on 14 April 2025 and may continue in force for 6 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Blue Road, Tiptree) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Blue Road, Tiptree in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Vine Road to its junction with Perry Road a distance of approximately 170m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 28th April 2025 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2383826 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while trial hole works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via Perry Road, Maldon Road, Vine Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 10th April 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Hawthorn Avenue, Colchester in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Hickory Avenue to its other junction with Hickory Avenue a distance of approximately 475m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 28th April 2025 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2379040 – Essex County Council). (Temporary Closure of Cycle Lane) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Head Street Cycle Lane, Colchester in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 45m north of its junction with Headgate Court for a distance of approximately 30m in a northerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 30th April 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (NK103DBS162179-2-01 – Virgin Media). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while ducting works are undertaken by Virgin Media.

(Museum Street, Colchester) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Museum Street, Colchester in the City of Colchester, from its junction with High Street to its junction with Castle Bailey a distance of approximately 50m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 28th April 2025 for 11 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30027176317 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new supply works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.

(New Church Road, West Bergholt) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close that length of New Church Road, West Bergholt in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Chapel Road for a distance of approximately 30m in a north westerly direction.
2. To temporarily introduce a ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction in the above length of road for the duration of the closure only.
“The Essex County Council (Colchester Borough) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On-Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above length of road only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.

(North Station Road Bus Lane, Colchester)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of North Station Road Bus Lane, Colchester in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Essex Hall Roundabout to its junction with The Albert Roundabout as detailed in ‘The Colchester Borough Council (Various Roads, Colchester) (Reserved Bus Lane) Order 2000’. The closure is scheduled to commence on 1st May 2025 for 2 nights (21:00-05:00), or where stated on a valid permit (EP20168243312 – Essex County Council). (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Seaview Avenue, West Mersea in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Osborne Road for a distance of approximately 30m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 29th April 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD01310780144 – Anglian Water). Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

(Alma Street, Wivenhoe) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Alma Street, Wivenhoe in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 40m south east of its junction with Hamilton Road for a distance of approximately 10m in a south easterly direction.
