What is happening?

Essex County Council

(Sheering Lower Road, Sheering)

(Experimental 6'6" width restriction) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under sections 9 and 10 and Parts III and IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).

Effect of the Order: To introduce a 2.0m/6'6? width restriction on Sheering Lower Road from a point approximately 16m north of its junction with Sheering Road northwards for approximately 7m

Date of operation: The Order will come into operation on 15 April 2025

The County Council will be considering in due course whether the provisions of the experimental order should be continued in force indefinitely.

(Hook Lane, Stapleford Abbotts)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Hook Lane, Stapleford Abbotts in the District of Epping Forest from a point approximately 200m south west of its junction with Stapleford Road for a distance of approximately 55m in a south westerly direction.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 28th April 2025 for 12 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP02231012602 – Avery Traffic Consultants Ltd). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while repairs to a damaged brick wall works are undertaken by Avery Traffic Consultants Ltd.

An alternative route is available via Hook Lane, Bournebridge Lane, Stapleford Road, Hook Lane and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 10th April 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Sheering Road & Sheering Lower Road, Sheering)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

    1. To temporarily close that length of Sheering Road, Sheering in the District of Epping Forest, from a point approximately 250m north east of its junction with Gilden Way for a distance of approximately 85m in a north easterly direction.

  1. To temporarily close that length of Sheering Lower Road, Sheering in the District of Epping Forest, from its junction with Sheering Road for a distance of approximately 150m in a north westerly then northerly direction.

    These closures are scheduled to commence on 28th April 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MX04410255021/MX04410255021CC – Affinity Water).

    The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce while hydrant repair and replacement works are undertaken by Affinity Water.

    Alternative routes are available via

      1.     (Fyfield Road/Ongar Road, Ongar)

    (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

    Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

    Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Fyfield Road/Ongar Road, Ongar in the District of Epping Forest, from the junction of Moreton Road for a distance of approximately 1125m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 14th April 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP02231012534 – Cre8tive Construction). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while section 278 carriageway surfacing works are undertaken by Cre8tive Construction.

    An alternative route is available via Fyfield Road, Four Wantz Roundabout, High Ongar Road, High Ongar Road Straightening, Chelmsford Road, Chelmsford Road Straightening, Ongar Road, Ongar Road West, Highwood Road Roundabout, Greenbury Way, Margaretting Road Roundabout, Greenbury Way, Writtle Bypass Roundabout, London Road, Westway, Waterhouse Lane, Rainsford Lane, Parkway, Rainsford Road, Roxwell Road, Roxwell Road Roundabout, Roxwell Road, Bishops Stortford Road, Chelmsford Road, Stortford Road, Dunmow Road, Ongar Road and vice versa.

    The Order came into effect on 27th March 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

    (Harlow Road, Ongar) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

    Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

    Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Harlow Road, Ongar in the District of Epping Forest, from a point approximately 190m south east of its junction with Wind Hill for a distance of approximately 90m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 15th April 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MX04410261262 – Affinity Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while stop tap and boundary box works are undertaken by Affinity Water.

    An alternative route is available via High Laver Road, Church Road, Mill Lane and vice versa (with access only into Harlow Road).

    The Order came into effect on 27th March 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

    (Sedge Green, Waltham Abbey)

    (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

    Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

    Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Sedge Green Waltham Abbey in the District of Epping Forest, from its junction with Meadgate Road for a distance of approximately 50m in a southerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 14th April 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MX04410260197 – Affinity Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while relay short service pipe works are undertaken by Affinity Water.

    An alternative route is available via Sedge Green, Pecks Hill, North Street, Middle Street, Nazeing Common, Common Road, Epping Road, Epping Road Roundabout, Tylers Road, Hamlet Hill and vice versa (with access only into Sedge Green).

    The Order came into effect on 27th March 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

    (Various Roads, District of Epping Forest) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) (No.6) Order 2025

    Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

    Effect of the order:

      1. To temporarily close that length of road in the District of Epping Forest as specified in the schedule to this Order.

    1. A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on the above length of road to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping restriction will be in force.

      “The Essex County Council (Epping Forest District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above length of road only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.

      The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 27th March 2025, exact dates will be specified on One.network. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase of works and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion route will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the roads.

      From its junction with Grange Farm Lane for a distance of approximately 305m in a north easterly direction.

      High Road, Chigwell Lane, Rectory Lane, Church Hill, Palmerston Road, Roding Lane, Chigwell Rise and vice versa.

      (Various Roads, District of Harlow) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) (No.9) Order 2025

      Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

      Effect of the order:

      1. To temporarily close that length of road in the District of Harlow as specified in the schedule to this Order.

        1. A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on the above length of road for the duration of the closure to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction will be in force.
