(LEWES DISTRICT CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is hereby given that the East Sussex County Council has made the above-named Order in exercise of its powers under Sections 1, 2, 4, 32, 35, 45, 46, 49, 53 and 124 of, and Part IV of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
The effect of the Order, which will come into operation on 4 April 2025, is to consolidate all previous Traffic Regulation Orders relating to parking prohibitions and restrictions for the Lewes district area into one Order.
The parking prohibitions and restrictions which were previously described in the text of Orders are now depicted on plans accompanying the new Order. A copy of the Order, a statement of reasons for making the Order and this public notice may be examined during the usual office hours at the following locations: East Sussex County Council, County Hall, Lewes, BN7 1UE

Anyone may, by application to the High Court within 6 weeks of the date of publication of this Notice, challenge the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained in them on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or any instrument made thereunder, or that there has been a failure to comply with any statutory requirement to the Orders.
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 The East Sussex (C667 Itford Farm Lane, Itford)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow Network Rail to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Itford Farm Lane – 60 metres either side of level crossing.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.
The Order commences 4 April 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 4 and 7 April 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024 To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Horleigh Green Road – from the junction with A267 Mayfield Road to the junction with U7573 Argos Hill Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C574 Fir Toll Road and vice versa.
The Order commenced 25 October 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 7 and 8 April 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025 To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

New Road – from the junction with P9151 Magnolia Close to the junction with P9142 Honeysuckle Avenue.

(Temporary 30 mph Speed Limit) Order 2025
To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily restrict all traffic using the following length of road to a speed not exceeding 30 mph:
