What is happening?

(Footpath 66 Great Dunmow and Footpath 04 Little Dunmow) (Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984(as amended)
Effect of the Order: To temporarily close the following lengths of Footpath 66, Great Dunmow and Footpath 04 Little Dunmow, in the district of Uttlesford as specified below.
Footpath 66 Great Dunmow – From its junction with FP4 Little Dunmow for approximately 125 meters.
Footpath 04 Little Dunmow – From its junction with Grange Lane to its junction with FP66 Great Dunmow, the entire length.
The closures are scheduled to commence on 09 April 2025 or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting. The closure is required for the safety of the public because of damage caused by construction traffic has made it unsafe to use.
No alternative route available.
The Order will come into effect on 09 April 2025 and may continue in force for 6 months, or until the issue has been resolved.
(Browns End Road, Broxted) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the Order: To temporarily close that length of Browns End Road, Broxted in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 770m north west then west of its junction with Water Lane for a distance of approximately 280m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 28th April 2025 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (GBC080W615D2PSB – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while duct laying works are undertaken by Openreach.
An alternative route is available via Browns End Road, Water Lane, Muscombs Lane, Millings Bridge Lane, Moor End Lane, Church End, Brick End and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 10th April 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Stebbing Road, Felsted) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the Order: To temporarily close that length of Stebbing Road, Felsted in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 490m south west then south east of its junction with Dunmow Road for a distance of approximately 70m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 28th April 2025 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MX060006117A5P – Affinity Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while water supply connection works are undertaken by Affinity Water.
An alternative route is available via Stebbing Road, Dunmow Road, Braintree Road, Chelmsford Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 10th April 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Bardfield Road, Thaxted) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the Order: To temporarily close that length of Bardfield Road, Thaxted in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 190m west of its junction with Bardfield End Green for a distance of approximately 145m in a westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 09th April 2025 for 3 nights (22:00–05:00), or where stated on a valid permit (EP02321012657 – New Homes Bardfield Road Limited). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while resurfacing works are undertaken by New Homes Bardfield Road Limited.
An alternative route is available via Mill End, Town Street, Watling Street, Newbiggen Street, Weaverhead Lane, Great Sampford Road, Thaxted Road, Sampford Hall Lane, Bardfield End Green Road, Bardfield End Green and vice versa (all routes entirely within Thaxted).
The Order came into effect on 27th March 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Stebbing Road, Felsted) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the Order: To temporarily close that length of Stebbing Road, Felsted in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 75m south west then south east of its junction with Dunmow Road for a distance of approximately 25m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 10th April 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MX06047801/AP – Affinity Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while remedial works are undertaken by Affinity Water.
An alternative route is available via Stebbing Road, Dunmow Road, Braintree Road, Watch House Green, School Lane, Garnets Lane and vice versa.
The Order came into effect on 27th March 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
