THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF STOCKPORT (GREEK STREET, STOCKPORT BRIDGE REPLACEMENT TRAFFIC SCHEME) (PROHIBITION OF MOTOR VEHICLES EXCEPT FOR ACCESS) EXPERIMENTAL TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport had on 25 March 2025 made an Experimental Traffic Order under Sections 9, 10 Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”) and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Schedule 9 to the Act, the effect of which will be to introduce Prohibition of Motor Vehicles (Except for Access) at Bordon Road, Tenby Road, Heathbank Road, Kensington Road, Plymouth Grove, Wicklow Avenue, Lorland Road, Larne Avenue, Merton Road, Lismore Avenue, Hythe Road, Sussex Road, Avondale Road, Alandale Road, Rushton Road, St Lesmo Road, Scholars Drive, Stockton Avenue, Tillard Avenue, Ash Street, Oak Street, Sycamore Street, Mrytle Street, Laburnum Way, Penrhyn Road, Hillington Road, Bonar Road, Doris Road, Posnett Street, Bennet Close, Bennet Street, Bow Street, Almond Close, Cypress Close, Alder Grove, Northgate Road, Llanfair Road, Glanvor Road, Bloom Street, Rae Street, Cunliffe Street, Lark Hill Road, Freemantle Street, Farr Street, Yule Street, Ealing Road, Grenville Street, Chelmsford Road, Adelade Road, Carmichael Street, Cambrian Road, Ingleton Road, Onslow Road, Kilburn Road, Eldon Road, Clyde Road, Chatham Street, Hartley Street, Atherton Street, Tarkington Street, Green Hill Street, Old Chapel Street, Aberdeen Crescent, Aberdeen Grove, Roscoe Street, Fox Street, Earl Street, Pitt Street, Worral Street, Lomas Street, Caroline Street, Castle Street, James Street, Newton Street, Carlile Street, Mossley Street, York Street, St Mathews Road, Bulkeley Street, Derby Street, Stopford Street, Bakewell Street, Heron Street, Gloucester Street and Lucy Street. The order will came into force on 26 March 2025 and will operate for a period of up to eighteen months and the Council will be considering in due course whether its provisions should continue in force indefinitely.

If you wish to object to the provisions of the order being established on a permanent basis, you should send your objection in writing to the undersigned within 6 months of the 2 April 2025 quoting reference ZA/7497204.
If you wish to question the validity of the order or if any provisions in it on the grounds that they are not within the powers confirmed by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the ground that any requirement of that Act or of any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the order you may, within six weeks from the 2 April 2025 apply for the purpose to the High Court.
