What is happening?

THE M5 MOTORWAY (JUNCTION 22 TO 23)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (a) intends to make an Order on the M5 Motorway in the County of Somerset so cable and associated works can be carried out in safety.
The works are expected to take place over one night (21.00 to 06.00) on or after 24 April 2025.
The effect of the Order would be to authorise the closure of:
(a) the northbound and southbound carriageways of the M5 between Junctions 22 and 23;
(b) the northbound entry slip road at Junction 23;
(c) the southbound entry slip road at Junction 22;
During the closures traffic would be diverted via junctions of the M5 and local roads.
The closures (which would not apply to emergency services and works vehicles), and diversion routes would be clearly indicated by traffic signs throughout the works period and would only apply when traffic management measures are in place.
The Order would come into force on 22 April 2025 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months.
