Back George Street - Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic For Adjacent Development Works
What is happening?

Traffic Regulation Order Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Section 14 (As Amended)
Notice is hereby given that the City Council has made the following Temporary Road Traffic Order(s): ORDER NO. MCC142449961: The City of Manchester (Back George Street, Deansgate Ward) (Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2025 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Back George Street from Princess Street to Dickinson Street.
The alternative routes for traffic will be: Princess Street, George Street.
The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate adjacent development works.
It is expected that the works will be in progress on Saturdays Only from 4th April 2025 to 31st October 2026.
The order shall come into operation on 4th April 2025 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months.
If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
