Temporary Closure Of Bridleway S And Footpaths
The Nottinghamshire County Council (A52 Lings Bar Footbridge Replacements, West Bridgford, Tollerton And Gamston) (Temporary Prohibition) Order 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order, under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be: -
No person shall: -
(a) proceed on foot,
(b) cause any pedal cycle to proceed,
(c) cause any horse to proceed and
(d) cause any animal to proceed,
in the following lengths of bridleway and footpath at West Bridgford, Tollerton and Gamston in the Borough of Rushcliffe:-
Stage 1. West Bridgford Footpath No.2 Continuing as Tollerton Footpath No.4, and West Bridgford Bridleway No.3 Continuing as Tollerton Bridleway No.5
IT IS INTENDED that the prohibition will apply as follows:-
From 15th April to 2nd May 2025 inclusive.
AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative routes will be via West Bridgford Footpath No.1 and Tollerton Footpath No.3 and vice versa.
Or West Bridgford Footpath No.15 and Tollerton Footpath No.6 and vice versa.
Stage 2. Gamston Footpath No.18
IT IS INTENDED that the prohibition will apply as follows: -
From 30th April to 2nd May 2025 inclusive.
AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route will be via roadside paths only and Gamston Footpath No.7 and vice versa.
Stage 3. West Bridgford Footpath No.1 Continuing as Tollerton Footpath No.3, and West Bridgford Footpath No.15 Continuing as Tollerton Footpath No.6
IT IS INTENDED that the prohibition will apply as follows: -
From 6th May to 21st May 2025 inclusive.
AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative routes will be via West Bridgford Bridleway No.3 and Tollerton Bridleway No.5 and vice versa.
Or West Bridgford Footpath No.2 and Tollerton Footpath No.4 and vice versa.
The prohibition shall apply to enable works to be carried out and in respect of the likelihood of danger to the public and damage to the paths.
It may also apply on subsequent days when it shall be necessary. If the works are not completed within 6 months, the Order may be extended.
The prohibition is required to enable sequential replacement of life expired footbridges on paths either side of the Lings Bar Road (A52) and in respect of the likelihood of danger to the public and damage to the footpath.
This Closure Will Only Take Effect When Signs Indicating Closure Are Displayed
This Notice Is Dated This 3rd Day Of April 2025.
