What is happening?

EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

The East Sussex (U7730 Upper Street, East Dean) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Upper Street – from the junction with U7731 Went Way to the junction with A259 Friston Hill.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A259 Friston Hill, Eastbourne Road – C37 Gilberts Drive – U7730 Lower Street and vice versa.

The Order commences 7 April 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 7 and 9 April 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (B2247 Pevensey Road, Polegate) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow Southern Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Pevensey Road – from the junction with U7759 Aberdale Road to the junction with B2247 Dittons Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via B2247 Dittons Road – A22 Dittons Road roundabout, Golden Jubilee Way – A27 Dittons Road roundabout, Polegate bypass, Cop Hall roundabout – B2247 Hailsham Road, Station Road, Pevensey Road and vice versa.

The Order commenced 5 August 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 7 and 8 April 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (A259 Seaside, Eastbourne) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow SGN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Seaside – from the junction with U2160 Carlton Road to the junction with A2021 Whitley Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A2021 Whitley Road – A2040 Upper Avenue, The Avenue – A259 Upperton Road, Station Parade, Terminus Road, Ashford Road, Susans Road.

The Order commences 8 April 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 8 and 17 April 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (Eastbourne)(Parking Places and Waiting, No Stopping and Loading Restrictions) Traffic Regulation Order 2021 Amendment Order 202* No.* (ETCIS Phase 2A)

Notice is hereby given that East Sussex County Council propose to make an Order under the relevant sections of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and of all other enabling powers, which will introduce new, removes or revises the existing parking, waiting and loading restrictions in the following lengths of road in preparation of the introduction of a new Pedestrian Zone in Terminus Road (between Cornfield Road and Langney Road) as part of the next phase of the Town Centre improvement scheme:-

Changes to Prohibition of Waiting At Any Time in: Bolton Road, Lismore Road, Terminus Road, Langney Road.

Changes to No Waiting At Any Time Except Taxis in: Bolton Road, Langney Road.

Changes to Goods Vehicles Loading Only bays in: Bolton Road, Langney Road, Terminus Road.

Changes to/Introduction of Disabled Persons Parking Places in: Langney Road, Terminus Road, Lismore Road, Tideswell Road.

Removal of Pay and Display Parking Places, Monday to Saturday, 8am-6pm, maximum stay 20min, no return within 1 hour in: Langney Road.

Changes to Permit Holders or Pay and Display Parking Places, Monday to Saturday, 8am-6pm, maximum stay 2 hours no return within 1 hour in: Tideswell Road. Introduction of Loading Bay, maximum stay 20min, in Langney Road.

The Eastbourne (Prescribed Routes) (Consolidation No 2) Order 2008 Amendment Order 202* No* (ETCIS Phase 2 A )

NOTICE is hereby given that East Sussex County Council propose to make an Order under the relevant sections of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and of all other enabling powers, which will introduce new, or revise existing prescribed routes along the following lengths of road in preparation of the introduction of a new Pedestrian Zone in Terminus Road (between Cornfield Road and Langney Road) as part of the next phase of the

Town Centre improvement scheme:-

Removal of One Way Traffic in the following roads; Bolton Road between Terminus Road and Lismore Road.

Langney Road between Susans Road and Terminus Road. Removal of No Right Turn in the following roads; Into Lismore Road from Bolton Road.

Into Langney Road from Susans Road. Introduce No Right Turn in the following road; Into Bolton Road from Lismore Road.

Introduce Prohibition of Entry in the following roads;

Into Terminus Road (eastern arm) from Langney Road

Into section of Bolton Road between traffic island at the junction with Lismore Road, and Memorial roundabout. Introduce Prohibition of Motor Vehicles at all times Except for Terminus Road permit holders Monday and Tuesday, Thursday to Saturday, Midnight-10am, 6pm-Midnight in the following roads;

Terminus Road between Cornfield Road and Langney Road. Introduce Prohibition of Pedal Cycles in the following roads;

Terminus Road between Cornfield Road and Langney Road.

Removal of Prohibition of Motor Vehicles at all times Except for loading Midnight-10am, 6pm-Midnight in the following roads;

Terminus Road between Cornfield Road and Bolton Road. Removal of Prohibition of Entry in the following roads; Into Langney Road from Susans Road.

Introduce Prohibition of Goods Vehicles exceeding 7.5t 10am-6pm in the following road;

Bolton Road northbound only between Memorial roundabout and Terminus Road.
