Colliery Way Footpath And Cycle Lane - Temporary Prohibition of Proceeding For Removal of Excess Material
What is happening?
THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(COLLIERY WAY FOOTPATH AND CYCLE LANE, GEDLING)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PROCEEDING) ORDER 2025 (G25-058)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at Gedling in the Borough of Gedling
The effects of the Order will be:
1. No Person shall proceed on foot or pedal cycle to which the public has access (“Footpath”) in the following length of roads at Gedling in the Borough of Gedling:
a. Colliery Way Footpath and Cycle Lane, Gedling - From its junction with Lambley Lane to its junction with Access Road to Gedling Wood Farm
2. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.
3. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.
IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows: From 08:00 hours Monday 7th April 2025 Until 16:00 hours Monday 21st April 2025 inclusive.
AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be:
a. Lambley Lane - Arnold Lane - Shearing Hill - Burton Road and vice versa
The Order will come into force on 7th April 2025 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out. The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months).
The prohibition is required to enable Via East Midlands on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council to carry the removal of excess material, repairs to newt fencing, harrowing and hydomulching;
