The City Of Salford - Prohibition Of Waiting And One Way Traffic

What is happening?

Notice is hereby given that Salford City Council has on 25 March 2025 Made Orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The titles and effects of the Orders are as follows:

1. The SALFORD CITY COUNCIL (PARK STREET AND WORSLEY STREET, SWINTON PARK) (PROHIBITION OF WAITING AND ONE WAY TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025 that introduces (A). NO WAITING AT ANY TIME on (i) Worsley Street, both sides, from 5m west of Park Street to 5m east of Park Street; and (ii) Park Street, both sides, from a point 5m south of Worsley Street northerly to 5m north of Worsley Street; and (B). ONE WAY TRAFFIC (with exemption of cyclists) on (i) Park Street, between Worsley Street and Swinton Hall Road - Permitted Direction of Travel - In a northerly direction (towards Swinton Hall Road); and (ii) Park Street, between Worsley Street and A6 Manchester Road - Permitted Direction of Travel - In a southerly direction (towards A6 Manchester Road).

2. The CITY OF SALFORD (PARK STREET AND WORSLEY STREET, SWINTON PARK) (20 MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2025 that introduces a 20MPH Speed Limit on (i) Park Street, full length; and (ii) Worsley Street, from Park Street to the cul de sac end.

The Orders will come into effect on 8 April 2025. Copies of the Orders and plans are available for inspection at Swinton Gateway, 100 Chorley Road, Swinton, M27 6BP Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm. Anyone wishing to question the validity of the Orders or any provision contained in them on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any requirement of that Act or of any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Orders may within 6 weeks from 25 March 2025 apply to the High Court for such purpose.
