What is happening?

MANCHESTER CITY COUNCIL TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)

Notice is hereby given that the City Council has made the following Temporary Road Traffic Order(s):
ORDER NO. MCC000136546680: The City of Manchester (Mancunian Way, Deansgate, Piccadilly, Hulme and Ardwick Wards) (Temporary 30mph Speed Limit) Order 2023 under s.14(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because of the likelihood of danger to the public caused by vehicles travelling in excess of 30mph. The said order reduced the speed limit to 30mph on the Mancunian Way between Chester Road Roundabout to its Junction with Downing Street in both directions. The said order came into operation on the 14th of December 2023. The Secretary of State now grants an extension of the said Order until 12 October 2025 provided that if the Council determines that the order is no longer necessary in relation to the danger to the public specified above, the said order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
