What is happening?

THE CITY OF EDINBURGH COUNCIL

(KILOMATHON) (TEMPORARY ROAD RESTRICTION AND TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2025 – TEMP/25/36

The Council, with the consent of Scottish Ministers, has made an order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be that for a temporary period, to facilitate the holding of the Kilomathon event, no person shall: (a) cause or permit any motor vehicle to enter, proceed or wait in or on any part of the lengths of roads specified in Sch 1, where prohibitions will apply to roads in their entirety unless otherwise stated; (b) drive or cause or permit to be driven any motor vehicle on the section of road specified in column 1 of Sch 2, otherwise than in the direction specified in column 2 of Sch 2; & (c) except with the permission of a Parking Attendant, cause or permit any vehicle to wait or load onto or unload from any vehicle on the sections of the roads specified in Sch 3, where prohibitions will apply to both sides of the roads in their entirety unless otherwise stated. Existing restrictions will be suspended on the affected sections of roads described in Sch 3. The Greenways Order 1997 will be suspended from 05:30hrs to 10:30hrs on 6/4/25 in so far as the no waiting at any time restrictions on Roseburn St & Russell Rd are affected by this order. The alternative routes for vehicular traffic are via: (1) Ocean Terminal Area – Commercial St, Nth Junction St, Ferry Rd, Newhaven Rd, Annfield, Great Michael Rise & Lindsay Rd; & (2) Roseburn Area – West Approach Rd, Westfield Rd, Stevenson Rd, Balgreen Rd & Corstorphine Rd. The order shall have effect on 6/4/25, during the hours specified in the Schedules. SCHEDULE 1 PROHIBITION OF MOTOR VEHICLES: (A) from 07:00hrs to 09:00hrs on: Melrose Drv, from the north-western kerbline of the vehicular exit from Ocean Terminal Shopping Centre, westwards to its jnct with Lindsay Rd; (B) from 08:25hrs to 08:40hrs on: (i) Melrose Drv, at its jnct with Ocean Drv/Victoria Quay roundabout; (ii) Ocean Drv: (1) both carriageways, from its jnct with Melrose Drv/Victoria Quay roundabout, north-eastwards for 45m; & (2) at its jnct with Victoria Quay; & (iii) Lindsay Rd, from its jnct with Melrose Drv, south-eastwards for 60m; & (C) from 08:30hrs to 10:30hrs on: (i) Russell Rd, from Sauchiebank to Roseburn St; (ii) Roseburn St, from Roseburn Ter to Roseburn Pl; (iii) Roseburn Pl; & (iv) Roseburn Cres. SCHEDULE 2 ONE-WAY ROADS: from 07:00hrs to 08:24hrs; & from 08:41hrs to 09:00hrs on:

Drv, both sides, from Ocean Drv/Victoria Quay roundabout to Lindsay Rd; & (ii) Lindsay Rd, both sides, from its jnct with Melrose Drv, south-eastwards for 150m; & (B) from 05:30hrs to 10:30hrs on: (i) Russell Rd, both sides, from Sauchiebank to Roseburn St; (ii) Roseburn St, both sides, from Roseburn Ter to Roseburn Pl; (iii) Roseburn Pl; & (iv) Roseburn Cres.
