What is happening?

Essex County Council

(Footpath 110 & Bridleway 202, Great Warley) (Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended

Effect of the order: To temporarily close Footpath 110 and Bridleway 202, Great Warley in the Borough of Brentwood as below.

The Bridleway and Footpath will be open when works are not taking place. Signs will be placed on site informing members of the public whether the route is open or closed. 

A Marshall will be on site to allow access to properties when needed. 

The diversion route will be on developer-owned property, details of the diversion will be displayed on site.

The closures are scheduled to commence between the dates of 17 April 2025 and 26 September 2025 or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting.

The closures are required for the safety of the public while transporting materials to the storage area by heavy vehicles. Also new drainage and surfacing works to Hole Farm Lane is to be undertaken.

The Order will come into effect on 17 April 2025 and may continue in force for 6 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.


(Horseman Side, Navestock)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Horseman Side, Navestock in the Borough of Brentwood, from its junction with Goatswood Lane for a distance of approximately 45m in a south westerly direction. 

The closure is scheduled to commence on 30th April 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MX04410254145 – Affinity Water). 

The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. 

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while stop tap and boundary box works are undertaken by Affinity Water. 

An alternative route is available via Horseman Side, Goatswood Lane, Church Road, Noak Hill Road, Broxhill Road, North Road, Oak Hill Road, Tysea Hill and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 9th April 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.


(Nags Head Lane, Brentwood)
(Temporary Introduction of 30mph Speed Limit) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily introduce a 30mph speed limit in that length of Nags Head Lane, Brentwood, in the Borough of Brentwood from a point approximately 70m south west of its junction with Brook Street for a distance of approximately 195m in a south westerly direction. 

The temporary speed limit is scheduled to commence on 1st May 2025 for 549 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP02230154100 – Essex County Council). 

The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. 

The temporary speed limit is required for the safety of the public and workforce while temporary access for new site works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

The Order will come into effect on 9th April 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.


(Hulletts Lane, Pilgrims Hatch)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Hulletts Lane, Pilgrims Hatch in the Borough of Brentwood, from its junction with Orchard Lane for a distance of approximately 70m in a north westerly direction. 

The closure is scheduled to commence on 14th April 2025 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EN013316842 – Essex And Suffolk Water). 

The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/ or displayed on one.network. 

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while connection works are undertaken by Essex And Suffolk Water.

An alternative route is available via Hulletts Lane, Ongar Road and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 26th March 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.


(Middleton Hall Lane, Brentwood)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Middleton Hall Lane, Brentwood in the Borough of Brentwood, from a point approximately 25m north east of its junction with Priests Lane for a distance of approximately 90m in a north easterly direction. 

The closure is scheduled to commence on 15th April 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EN013308611A – Essex And Suffolk Water). 

The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. 

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Essex And Suffolk Water.

An alternative route is available via Middleton Hall Lane, Shenfield Road, Ingrave Road and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 26th March 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.


(Navestock Side, Navestock)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Navestock Side, Navestock in the Borough of Brentwood, from its junction with Green Lane for a distance of approximately 390m in a north easterly direction. 

The closure is scheduled to commence on 17th April 2025 for 37 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AZ5021001396520 – Cadent). 

The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. 

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while mains replacement works are undertaken by Cadent.

An alternative route is available via Navestock Side, Snakes Hill, Mores Lane, Ongar Road, Crown Road and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 26th March 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) (No.9) Order 2025 

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. 

Effect of the order:
1. A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on those lengths of road as specified in the schedule. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping restriction will be in force.

2. “The Essex County Council (Brentwood Borough) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of road only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force. 

The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 26th March 2025, exact dates will be specified on One.Network. Access will be maintained for emergency services.
