Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991 Schedule I - Section 14 (1) (A)

Various Roads - Temporary Traffic Restrictions

I. The Council of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea hereby give notice that to facilitate highway improvement works they have made an Order the effect of which will be to impose temporary restrictions on vehicular traffic in the sections of the streets as listed in paragraph II below. In addition, the alternative routes are also shown. 

Directly affected residents will be notified in advance of the dates and anticipated duration of each closure. However, to allow for contingencies the order will remain in force for eighteen months.

II.
1. Sloane Square - closed at its junction with Cliveden Place. Alternative routes for vehicular traffic is via Eaton Square, Belgrave Place, Chesham Place, Pont Street and Sloane Street. Also, via Lower Sloane Street, Pimlico Road, Buckingham Palace Road, Grosvenor Gardens, Hobart Place and Eaton Square.

2. Sloane Square - closed at its junction with Symons Street. Alternative route for vehicular traffic is via Cadogan Gardens and Kings Road. Also, the one way working in Symons Street will be suspended to facilitate egress.

3. Sloane Square - closed at its junction with Lower Sloane Street. Alternative route for vehicular traffic is via Pimlico Road, Buckingham Palace Road, Grosvenor Gardens, Hobart Place and Eaton Square and Cliveden Place. 

Also, via, Kings Road, Edith Grove, Cremorne Road, Cheyne Walk, Chelsea Embankment, Cheyne Place and Royal Hospital Road.Grenville Place. No alternate route available for vehicular traffic.

4. Sloane Square - directional closure at its junction with Sloane Street. The road will be closed in halves, ensuring one half remains open at all times. Alternative routes for vehicular traffic (northbound) is via Cliveden Place, Eaton Square, Belgrave Place, Chesham Place, Pont Street and Sloane Street. 

Also, via (southbound) Pont Street, Chesham Place, Lyall Street and Eaton Square.

5. Sloane Square - closed at its junction with Holbein Place. Alternative route for vehicular traffic is via Lower Sloane Street and Sloane Gardens.

6. Sloane Square - closed at its junction with Sedding Street. Alternative route for vehicular traffic is via Sloane Square, Sloane Street and Sloane Terrace. 

Also, the one way working in Sedding Street will be suspended to facilitate egress.

III. To facilitate the works being carried out the Order will ban waiting at any time in the sections of carriageway specified above whilst the works are being carried out.

IV. The Order will come into effect on Thursday 20th March 2025 and under the provisions of the above-mentioned Act will continue in force until such time as all the works are completed.

V. Nothing in this Notice shall apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a traffic warden.

VI. Nothing in this Notice shall apply to any vehicle being used in connection with the said works.
