Whitehaven, Temporary Road Closures Due To Utility Works

What is happening?

CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (U4055 SALTCOATS AND U4371 HONISTER ROAD, WHITEHAVEN) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out ("the Works"), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following sections of road:

1. U4055 Saltcoats, from its junction with the U4056, extending in an overall southerly direction for approx. 1.3 km.

There is no suitable alternative route available for vehicles.

Duration: From 24 April 2025 for approx. 2 days between 0830 and 1630 hours (Ref TTROC/14019)

2. U4371 Honister Road, Whitehaven, from its junction with Meadow Road, extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 190m.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of Honister Road, Dent Road and Meadow Road.

Duration: From 8 May 2025 for approx. 1 day between 0830 and 1630 hours (Ref: TTROC/14243)

A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

The Order will come into operation on 24 April 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
