Greek Street - Prohibition of Waiting and Revocation
What is happening?
THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF STOCKPORT (GREEK STREET, STOCKPORT BRIDGE REPLACEMENT TRAFFIC SCHEME) (PROHIBITION OF WAITING) AND (REVOCATION) EXPERIMENTAL TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport had on 25 March made an Experimental Traffic Order under Sections 9, 10 Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”) and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Schedule 9 to the Act, the effect of which will be to introduce No Waiting At Any Time Longshutt Lane West, Both Sides; From its intersection with the south western kerbline of Wellington Road South to its intersection with the north eastern kerbline of Shaw Heath.
Revocations - No Waiting At Any Time Longshutt Lane West; Both sides; From its intersection with the south western kerbline of Wellington Road South in a south westerly direction for a distance of 50 metres. Longshutt Lane West; Both sides; From its intersection with the eastern kerbline of Shaw Heath in a north easterly direction for a distance of 39 metres.
No Waiting 8am- 6pm Longshutt Lane West; From a point 50 metres south west from its intersection with the south western kerbline of Wellington Road South to a point 39 metres north east of its intersection with the north eastern kerbline of Shaw Heath.
The order came into force on 26 March 2025 and will operate for a period of up to eighteen months and the Council will be considering in due course whether its provisions should continue in force indefinitely.

If you wish to object to the provisions of the order being established on a permanent basis, you should send your objection in writing to the undersigned within 6 months of the 2 April 2025 quoting reference ZA/7497204.
If you wish to question the validity of the order or if any provisions in it on the grounds that they are not within the powers confirmed by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the ground that any requirement of that Act or of any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the order you may, within six weeks from the 2 April 2025 apply for the purpose to the High Court.
