What is happening?

CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (VARIOUS ROADS IN THE CUMBERLAND AREA) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) (NO.6) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the lengths of road specified in the attached Schedule.

Suitable diversion routes will be indicated on site by the display of relevant traffic signs as and when the temporary closures are in force. A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

The Order will come into operation on 17 April 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, the works are expected to be completed and the restrictions removed within the times specified in this notice, and only when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.

SCHEDULE

EXTENT OF RESTRICTIONS AND ALTERNATIVE ROUTES

  1. U1012 Moat, near Longtown – From 17 April 2025 for approx. 1 day between 0930 and 1530 hours (Ref: TTRO/C/13954)

    At all times.

    From it's a point adjacent to the property known as Andrews Syke, extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 130m.

    Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the U1012, U1013, C1066 and C1001 Carnwielly and Moat.

  2. U1016 and C1007 near Easton – From 17 April 2025 for approx. 1 day between 0830 and 1530 hours (Ref: TTRO/C/13980)

    i) U1016 near Easton from its junction with the C1007, extending in a south easterly direction for approx 270m.

    ii) C1007 near Easton from its junction with the U1013, extending in a north easterly direction for approx 280m.

    Alternative Routes: via the unrestricted sections of the U1013, C1006 Easton, U1017 and the unrestricted section of the C1007.

  3. U1197 Fenton – From 23 April 2025 for approx. 2 days between 0830 and 1530 hours (Ref: TTRO/C/13977)

    From its junction with the U1196, extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 690m.

    Alternative Route: via the U1196, U1195, Heads Nook, C1026, Faugh, C1035, How Mill and the unrestricted section of the U1197.

  4. Cheshterholm, Carlisle – From 29 April 2025 for approx. 2 days between 0830 and 1730 hours (Ref: TTRO/C/14024)

    From a point adjacent to No.126 Cheshterholm, extending in an overall southerly direction for approx. 110m.

    There is no suitable alternative route available for vehicles.

  5. C1001 Moat, near Longtown – From 30 April 2025 for approx. 1 day between 0930 and 1530 hours (Ref: TTRO/C/14155)

    From its junction with the U1012, extending in a south westerly direction for approx. 850m.

    Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the C1001, Carnwielly, Netherby Road, Graham Street, Netherby Street, High Street and Bridge Street, Longtown, A7, B7201, B6317 Canonbie and B6318.

  6. C1008 Near Penton – From 6 May 2025 for approx. 1 day between 0930 and 1530 hours (Ref: TTRO/C/14176)

    From a point adjacent to the property known as Railway Cottages, extending in a south westerly direction for approx. 320m.

    Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the C1008, C1007 and B6318.

  7. U1182 Green Lane, Crosby-on-Eden – From 7 May 2025 for approx. 1 day between 0830 and 1530 hours (Ref: TTRO/C/14262)

    From its junction with Hendersons Croft, extending in a south westerly direction for approx. 70m.

    There is no suitable alternative route available for vehicles.

  8. B5307 Abbeytown – From 7 May 2025 for approx. 1 day between 0930 and 1530 hours (Ref: TTRO/C/14267)

    From its junction with the entrance to the property known as Station House, extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 130m.

    Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the B5307, C2050 Lessonhall, Waverbridge and B5302 Wheyrigg and Abbeytown.
