Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.1) 2025
On 2 April 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the lengths of roads specified and described in the Schedule to this Notice. This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate high friction surfacing works and/or major maintenance works, which is anticipated to be completed as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 15 April 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. In the event that it is necessary to restrict any access at any time under Section 3 of the Act, the road can only be closed for a maximum of 8 hours in any 24-hour period. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access for emergency service vehicles to these properties, will be maintained when safe to do so and if necessary via the signed diversion route.
Schedule
- the entire length of D3611 Gorsewood Road, St Johns. Alternative Route – A324 Hermitage Road, A324 Hermitage Roundabout, A324 Hermitage Road, D3614 Amis Road and D3613 Copley Close;
- that length of A3046 Chobham Road, Woking and A3046 Kettlewell Hill, Horsell which extends between the junction with Woodham Road to the junction with Laleham Court. Alternative Route – A3046 Chobham Road, A320 Victoria Way, A320 Chertsey Road, A245 Shores Road and A3046 Kettlewell Hill;
- the entire length of D3629 Bullbeggars Lane, Horsell.
Alternative Route – C140 High Street and D3632 Bury Lane.
Holly Bank Road (D3682) Woking
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above- mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to (a) prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of Holly Bank Road (D3682) Woking. Alternative Route – Hook Heath Road; and Hook Heath Avenue or this same route in reverse; and (b) suspend “The Surrey County Council Various Roads in Woking Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.1) 2023” insofar as it affects the length of road in part (a) to this Notice. This Order, which will commence on 01 May 2025 for a period of 18 months is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the said roads, to be carried out by or on behalf of Surrey County Council, including but not limited to: surface dressing and/or patching works and/or highway maintenance works. Works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible and will not take the full duration of this Order. Advanced warning signs will be displayed; and the temporary closures will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times, as will access for emergency service vehicles in an emergency situation only. Vehicular access for residents and businesses will be maintained only when safe to do so, if necessary, via the diversion route. During certain phases of the works, vehicular access to premises may be restricted, when this is the case such restriction of access will apply for no more than eight hours within any 24-hour period.
Egley Road (A320) Woking
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Egley Road (A320) Woking which extends from the southwestern property access road from Egley Road (A320) to Hoe Valley School (D7354) to its junction with Drakes Way (D7237).
Alternative Route – No diversion route available.
This Order is required to allow BT Openreach to carry out cabling works, which is anticipated to be completed within 1 day, between 9:00am and 1:00pm, during the 12 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 27 April 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency vehicles, residents, pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times.
