What is happening?

Various Roads, Yeovil in the Parish of Yeovil (Temporary Traffic Restrictions) Order 2025 

Notice is hereby given that on the 21st day of March 2025 Somerset Council made the above Order in exercise of the provisions of Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as previously advertised on the 13th day of March 2025, to introduce temporary traffic restrictions on the roads specified in the Schedules below.

This Order will come into operation on the 27th day of March 2025 and will remain in force for eighteen months. 

The Works are to be phased (as signed on site) and expected to commence on the 31st day of March 2025 until the 23rd day of June 2025 (between 08:00 hours and 17:00 hours) to enable the appointed contractor, Wales & West Utilities, to undertake gas main replacement works. 

The restrictions will only apply when indicated by traffic signs.

Temporary Suspension of One Way
King Street, Yeovil – from its junction with Goldcroft to its junction with Crofton Avenue 

Schedule 2
Temporary Prohibition of Vehicles
Goldcroft, Yeovil – from its junction with Sparrow Road to its junction with Croftton Avenue 

Crofton Park, Yeovil – from the junction with Goldcroft in a westerly direction for a distance of 62 metres

Goldcroft, Yeovil – from its junction with Crofton Avenue to its junction with Crofton Park

Goldcroft, Yeovil – from its junction with Crofton Park to its junction with the A30 Reckleford

Statement of reasons for making the Order
a) because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road; b) because of the likelihood of danger to the public, or of serious damage to the road, which is not attributable to such works.
