What is happening?

Highways

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984,  makes or intends to make the following Orders.

 

SWALE AREA

 

A2 High Street, Newington, ME9 7JH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2025

To allow S278 and associated utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of A2 High Street, Newington, from 26th April 2025, with estimated completion by 27th April 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions with Merton Drive and Callaways Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A2 London Road, Hartlip Hill, London Road, Moor Street, High Street, London Road, Bowaters Roundabout, A278 Hoath Way, Hoath Way Roundabout, Hoath Way, Wigmore Roundabout, Hoath Way, M2 J4 to J5 On Slip, M2, M2 J5 Off Slip, A249 Maidstone Road, A2 Key Street Roundabout, Keycol Hill, Boyces Hill and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Almshouse Road, Throwley Forstal, ME13 0PH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2025

To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Almshouse Road, Throwley Forstal, from 22nd April 2025, for up to one day, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions with Park Terrace and Throwley Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Almshouse Road, Pettfield Hill, Church Road, Stalisfield Road, Haywards Hill, Throwley Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Brenley Lane, Boughton Under Blean. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2025

To allow telegraph pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Brenley Lane, Boughton Under Blean, from 24th April 2025, with estimated completion by 25th April 2025, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed approximately 210m South of the junction with South Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Selling Road, A2 Canterbury Road, A2 London Road, Brenley Corner Roundabout, Brenley Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Brewery Road, Sittingbourne, ME10 2AU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2025

To allow telegraph pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Brewery Road, Sittingbourne, from 7th April 2025, with estimated completion by 8th April 2025, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions with Musgrave Road and Cooks Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Cooks Lane, B2006 Mill Way, Saffron Way, Langley Road, Brewery Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Cleve Hill, Graveney, ME13 9ED (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2025

To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Cleve Hill, Graveney, from 22nd April 2025, for up to one day, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junction with Seasalter Road and Cleve Farm, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Cryalls Lane, Sittingbourne & Wises Lane, Borden. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & TEMPORARY 30 MPH SPEED RESTRICTION) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2025

To allow apparatus works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to prohibit traffic and impose a temporary mandatory 30 mph speed restriction on part of Cryalls Lane, Sittingbourne & Wises Lane, Borden.

The temporary mandatory 30 mph speed restriction on Cryalls Lane will take place from 7th April 2025, with estimated completion by 11th April 2025. Planned dates for the closures of Cryalls Lane and Wises Lane will be published in advance of the works on One.Network and indicated by signage displayed on site 14 days before they start.

The road closure and temporary 30 mph speed restriction on Cryalls Lane will be imposed between the junctions with Somerset Close and Wises Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for through traffic is via Wises Lane, Platinum Way, Ashmeads Rise, Wises Lane, A2 London Road, Adelaide Drive, Sydney Avenue and vice versa.

Wises Lane will be closed between the junctions with Platinum Way (new road through Applegate Park development) and Cryalls Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for through traffic is via Platinum Way, Ashmeads Rise, Wises Lane, A2 London Road, Borden Lane, The Street and vice versa.

 

Highsted Road, Sittingbourne - Preservation Treatment. ME10 4QE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & TEMPORARY SPEED RESTRICTIONS) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2025

To allow the Surface Preservation Scheme to take place, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Highsted Road, Sittingbourne. This Order takes effect on or after 26th April 2025, with estimated completion by 27th April 2025, between the hours of 07:00 and 19:00.

After the Surface Treatment works are complete, temporary speed restrictions of 40 mph & 20 mph may be imposed for a period of up to 5 days, these will be clearly indicated by relevant signs displayed on site.

These works are subject to weather conditions and other factors which may potentially cause changes at short notice. Every effort will be made to keep as close as possible to the planned dates and any changes will be publicised.

The road will be closed between the junctions with Swanstree Avenue and Cromer Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Brenchley Road, Bell Road, Woodstock Road, Cromer Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Hillside Road, Stalisfield. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2025

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Hillside Road, Stalisfield, from 8th April 2025, for up to one day, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed at the junction with Church Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Church Road, Kenelling Road, Thorneycroft Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Jefferson Road, Sheerness, ME12 2QE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2025

To allow utility connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Jefferson Road, Sheerness, from 10th April 2025, with estimated completion by 17th April 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 55, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Unity Street, Richmond Street, James Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Jezzards Lane, Boughton Under Blean & Rhode Common, Dunkirk. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2025

To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Jezzards Lane, Boughton Under Blean & Rhode Common, Dunkirk, from 22nd April 2025, for up to one day, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.

The roads will be closed between the junctions with South Street and Scoggers Hill, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via South Street, Scoggers Hill and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

New Road, Sheerness, ME12 1AU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2025

To allow Section 278 works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of New Road, Sheerness, from 26th April 2025, with estimated completion by 27th April 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions with Medway Road and Dorset Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via New Road, Queensway, Hawthorn Avenue, St Georges Avenue, Medway Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Otterden Road, Eastling & Stalisfield. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2025

To allow telegraph pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Otterden Road, Eastling & Stalisfield, from 22nd April 2025, with estimated completion by 23rd April 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions with The Limes and Frith Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Otterden Road, The Street, Eastling Road, Stalisfield Road, Hart Hill, A20 Maidstone Road, Ashford Road, Hubbards Hill, Warren Street, Bunce Court Road, Otterden Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

South Bush Lane, Rainham. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2025

To allow installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on South Bush Lane, Rainham, from 7th April 2025, with estimated completion by 19th April 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in its entirety, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Meresborough Lane, Meresborough Road, A2 Moor Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Spade Lane, Hartlip, ME9 7LZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2025

To allow installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Spade Lane, Hartlip, from 22nd April 2025, with estimated completion by 24th April 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the properties Little Harriots and Queenfield, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A2 London Road, Mill Lane, The Street, Place Lane, Meresborough Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Various Roads, Faversham, Selling, Throwley & Ospringe (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2025

To allow connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of various roads throughout Faversham, Selling, Throwley & Ospringe, from 11th April 2025, with estimated completion by 17th April 2025, or until the works have been completed.

Works Schedule

A251 Ashford Road, Faversham

The road will be closed between the junctions with A2 Canterbury Road and Tettenhall Way, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for vehicles will be via A251 Ashford Road, M2 J6-J7, A2 Brenley Corner Roundabout, London Road, Canterbury Road and vice versa.

The non-motorway diversion route will be symbolised out on site.

Salters Lane, Selling

The road will be closed at the junction with A251 Ashford Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for vehicles will be via A251 Ashford Road, M2 J6-J7, A2 Brenley Corner Roundabout, London Road, Canterbury Road and vice versa.

Porters Lane, Ospringe

The road will be closed in its entirety, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for vehicles is via A251 Ashford Road, M2 J6-J7, A2 Brenley Corner Roundabout, London Road, Canterbury Road, London Road, Brogdale Road and vice versa.

Plumford Lane, Ospringe & Throwley

The road will be closed in its entirety, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for vehicles is via A251 Ashford Road, M2 J6-J7, A2 Brenley Corner Roundabout, London Road, Canterbury Road, London Road, Brogdale Road and vice versa.
