What is happening?

Transport for London PUBLIC NOTICE:

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

THE A12 GLA ROAD (EAST CROSS ROUTE /EASTERN AVENUE, LONDON BOROUGHS OF WALTHAM FOREST AND HACKNEY) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC AND STOPPING) ORDER 2025

  1. Transport for London hereby gives notice that it has made the above-named Traffic Order under section 14(1), (5), (7) and 15(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and is satisfied that these works will last in excess of 18 months for the purpose specified in paragraph 2. The effect of the Order is summarised in paragraph 3.

  2. The purpose of the Order is to enable step free access works to take place at Leyton Underground Station.

  3. The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any vehicle from entering, exiting, proceeding or stopping on:

(1) the westbound carriageway of the A12 East Cross Route/ Eastern Avenue between its junctions with the westbound

off-slip road connecting the westbound carriageway of Eastern Avenue with Green Man Interchange and un-named on slip road connecting Eastway with the westbound carriageway of the A12 East Cross Route;

(2) the un-named on-slip road connecting the westbound carriageway of the A12 Eastern Avenue with Green Man Interchange.

  1. The Order will be effective at certain times from 12:01 AM on 31st March 2025 until the works have been completed.

    The prohibition will apply only during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.

The prohibition will not apply in respect of:

(1) any vehicle being used for the purposes of those works or for fire brigade, ambulance or police purposes;

(2) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a person authorised by

Transport for London.

  1. At such times as the prohibitions are in force an alternative route will be indicated by traffic signs via Green Man Interchange, Whipps Cross Road, Lea Bridge Road, Leyton Green Road, High Road Leyton, Ruckholt Road, un-named on slip road and Eastway to normal route of travel.

  2. The Order will be revoked upon completion of works.
