What is happening?
Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 – Section 14(1)(A) And (7)
The M5 Motorway (Junction 1 To Junction 3) (Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic) Order 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company no. 9346363) has made an Order on the M5 Motorway, in the Metropolitan Boroughs of Sandwell and Dudley, to allow bridge repairs and maintenance work to be carried out.
The effect of the Order will be to close –
a) the southbound carriageway of the M5 from its junction with the exit slip road at Junction 1, to its junction with the entry slip road at Junction 3;
b) the northbound carriageway of the M5 from its junction with the exit slip road at Junction 3, to its junction with the entry slip road at Junction 1;
c) the entry slip road leading to the southbound carriageway of the M5 at Junction 1;
d) the exit slip road leading from the northbound carriageway of the M5 at Junction 1;
e) any slip road leading to or from the M5 at Junction 2;
f) the exit slip road leading from the southbound carriageway of the M5 at Junction 3, and
g) the entry slip road leading to the northbound carriageway of the M5 at Junction 3.
The work will be carried out overnight between 21:00 hours and 05:00 hours and is expected to start on Monday 7 April 2025 and continue for approximately nineteen weeks. The Order will come into force on 31 March 2025.
Vehicles being used for police, fire and rescue authority or ambulance purposes, and vehicles being used in connection with the works or for winter maintenance purposes will be exempt from the closures.
Diversion routes via the A4252 Kenrick way, the A457 Tollhouse way, the A4034 Churchbridge, the A4123 Wolverhampton Road, Hagley Road West, Quinton Express and vice versa and via alternative junctions of the M5 will be signed.

The M6 Motorway (Junction 6) (Gravelly Hill Interchange) (Link Roads) (Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic) Order 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company no. 9346363) has made an Order on the M6 Motorway at Junction 6, in the City of Birmingham, to allow maintenance works to be carried out by Birmingham City Council to A38(M) Aston Expressway and Salford Circus.
The effect of the Order will be to close -
(a) the link road leading from the southbound carriageway of the M6 at Junction 6, to the southbound carriageway of the A38(M) Aston Expressway;
(b) the link road leading from the northbound carriageway of the M6 at Junction 6, to the southbound carriageway of the A38(M) Aston Expressway;
(c) the link road leading from the southbound carriageway of the A5127, to the southbound carriageway of the A38(M) Aston Expressway;
(d) the link road leading from the A38 Tyburn Road, to the southbound carriageway of the A38(M) Aston Expressway;
(e) the link road leading from the northbound carriageway of the A38(M) Aston Expressway, to the southbound carriageway of the M6; and
(f) the link road leading from the northbound carriageway of the A38(M) Aston Expressway, to the northbound carriageway of the M6.
The work will be carried out overnight between 21:00 hours and 05:00 hours and is expected to start on Monday 7th April 2025 and continue for 5 nights. The Order will come into force on 31st March 2025.
Vehicles being used for police, fire and rescue authority or ambulance purposes, and vehicles being used in connection with the work or by a traffic officer will be exempt from the closures.
A diversion route via Salford Circus, the A5127, Dartmouth Circus, Park Circus, and Waterlinks Boulevard and vice versa will be signed.
