Croydon, Temporary Road Closures Due To Gas Main Replacement Works

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT. 1984. SECTION 14 AS AMENDED AND THE ROAD TRAFFIC (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT 1991

RICHMOND ROAD & WINIFRED ROAD. COULSDON TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC

1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate gas main replacement work by SGN, they intend to make an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict traffic in Richmond Road and Winifred Road, Coulsdon.

2. Whilst the said works are taking place:

a) Richmond Road will be closed at its junction with Winifred Road

b) Winifred Road will be closed at its junction with Richmond Road.

3. Whilst the closures are in place the diversion route for traffic will be via Clifton Road, Woodmansterne Road, Grove Lane, Beechwood Avenue, Whitethorn Avenue and vice versa, as appropriately signed.

4. The Order will come into operation on 14 April 2025, and it is anticipated that the work will be completed on 04 May 2025. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required.

5. These restrictions shall not apply in respect of:

(a) any vehicle involved in carrying out the said works.

(b) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such

as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.

(c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.
