London Road - Temporary Road Closure

Portsmouth City Council (London Road) (Temporary Road Closure) (Temporary Suspension of Bus Lane) (No.73) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council intends to make the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.
The Order comes into operation from 14th April 2025 and the effect will be as follows:
A) TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF BUS LANE
LONDON ROAD

From its junction with Northwood Rod to Portsbridge Roundabout.
B) TEMPORARY BANNED RIGHT TURN
LONDON ROAD (SOUTHBOUND)
Into Northern Parade.

C) TEMPORARY BANNED LEFT TURN
LONDON ROAD (NORTHBOUND)
Into Northern Parade.

D) TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE
MILITARY ROAD

From its junction with London Road for 10 metres.
HILSEA CRESCENT
From its Junction with Northern Parade (northside) for 10 metres.
E) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate survey works.
F) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 14th April 2025 to 14th October 2025 or completion of the works, whichever is sooner. Notwithstanding the above, works will take place between 19:00 - 06:00. Notwithstanding the above, works will take place in sections as notified by signage and letters to residents in advance of works taking place.
G) DIVERSION
Vehicles will be diverted from:
London Road, York Terrace, Copnor Road, Peronne Road, Military Road.
Military Road, London Road, York Terrace, Copnor Road, Old London Road.
London Road, London Road Access Roads To Bus Stops At Hilsea Lido, Portsbridge Roundabout, Western Road, Northern Road.
Hilsea Crescent, Northern Parade.
London Road, Portsbridge Roundabout, York Terrace, Copnor Road, Old London Road, London Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained around the works.
Cycles to follow vehicle diversion or dismount and follow pedestrian diversion around the works.
