THE M66 MOTORWAY (JUNCTION 3 SLIP ROADS) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company No. 09346363) intends to make an Order on the M66 Motorway, in the Borough of Bury, in the County of Greater Manchester to enable resurfacing works by the local authority to be carried out in safety.
The Order will ban all traffic from the following sections of the M66 Motorway:
i. the northbound exit and entry slip roads at junction 3;
ii. the southbound exit and entry slip roads at Junction 3.
The prohibitions are expected to take place overnight starting at 20:00 on Tuesday 6 May 2025 and ending at 05:00 on Friday 23 May 2025.
However, works may start and continue between the same times on subsequent nights until completed.
Diversions via alternative junctions of the M66 Motorway and local roads will be well signed.
The prohibitions will apply to emergency services, works and traffic officer vehicles and will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall, from time to time, be indicated by traffic signs. The Order comes into force on 5 May 2025 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months. For further information, contact sam.smith@highwaysengland.co.uk.
