What is happening?

EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

The East Sussex (U7758 Gilda Crescent, Polegate) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow SGN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Gilda Crescent – from No.1 to No.17.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U7758 Gilda Crescent and vice versa.

The Order commences 14 April 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 14 and 23 April 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U7961 Church Street, Willingdon) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Church Street – from the junction with A2270 Eastbourne Road to the junction with U7953 Coopers Hill.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A2270 Eastbourne Road – U7953 Coopers Hill.

The Order commences 16 April 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken from 19:00hrs to 02:00hrs on 16 and 17 April 2025 depending upon the weather conditions. The East Sussex (U7730 Upper Street, East Dean) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025 No.2

To allow SGN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Upper Street – from the junction with U7731 Went Way to the junction with A259 Friston Hill.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A259 Friston Hill, Eastbourne Road – C37 Gilberts Drive – U7730 Lower Street and vice versa.

The Order commences 14 April 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 14 April and 16 May 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U7105 Shepham Lane, Polegate) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Shepham Lane – from the junction with B2247 Pevensey Road to the junction with U7223 Glynleigh Drive.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U7105 Shepham Lane – U7223 Levett Road – B2247 Pevensey Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 14 April 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 14 and 18 April 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (B2191 Eastbourne Road, Westham) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow Network Rail to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Eastbourne Road – from the junction with C712 Rattle Road to the junction with U7738 Pelham Close.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via B2191 Eastbourne Road, Hide Hollow, Priory roundabout, Hide Hollow – B2104 Hide Hollow roundabout, Friday Street, Willingdon roundabout, Friday Street, Lion Hill – C712 Rattle Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 14 April 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken from 23:30hrs to 06:00hrs between 14 and 22 April 2025 depending upon the weather conditions. The East Sussex (A22 Golden Jubilee Way, Eastbourne/Westham) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary 40 mph Speed Limit) Order 2025

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Golden Jubilee Way – from the A22 Shinewater roundabout to the A22 Dittons Road roundabout.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic southbound via A27(T) Polegate bypass, Eastbourne Road – A2270 Eastbourne Road, Willingdon Road – A2021 Kings Drive – A2280 Cross Levels Way – A22 Highfield Link and northbound via A22 Highfield Link – A2280 Cross Levels Way – A2021 Kings Drive – A2270 Willingdon Road, Eastbourne Road – A27(T) Eastbourne Road, Polegate bypass.

The Order commences 31 March 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken in various shifts of restricted working hours from 20:00hrs to 06:00hrs between 31 March and 31 July 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The Order also temporarily restricts all traffic using the following length of road to a speed not exceeding 40 mph while the closure is not in force:-

Golden Jubilee Way – from the A22 Shinewater roundabout to the A22 Dittons Road roundabout.

The Order commences 31 March 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated the restriction will be in place between 31 March and 31 July 2025.
