Essex - Multiple Temporary Road Closures due to Maintenance and Utility Works
What is happening?

(Church End Lane, Broxted)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Church End Lane, Broxted in the District of Uttlesford, from its junction with Thaxted Road for a distance of approximately 70m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 23rd April 2025 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008WFMF4P6WSB - Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while civils works are undertaken by Openreach.
An alternative route is available via Thaxted Road, Church End, Moor End Lane, Church End Lane and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 3rd April 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(High Cross Lane East, Little Canfield)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of High Cross Lane East, Little Canfield in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 575m south then south west of its junction with Stortford Road for a distance of approximately 20m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 22nd April 2025 for 4 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MX04410248195 - Affinity Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while valve repair works are undertaken by Affinity Water.
An alternative route is available via High Cross Lane East, High Cross Lane West, Stortford Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 3rd April 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Mill Road, Henham)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Mill Road, Henham in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 55m south of its junction with Mill Road Service Road for a distance of approximately 105m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 22nd April 2025 for 15 days, or where stated on a valid permit (TD012TRI/X912/004 - Energy Assets Pipelines Limited). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while gas main connection works are undertaken by Energy Assets Pipelines Limited.
An alternative route is available via Henham Road, High Street, Station Road, Old Mead Road, Hall Road, Church Street and vice versa (with access only into Mill Road, Crow Street).
The Order will come into effect on 3rd April 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Hammond Road, Hatfield Broad Oak)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Hammond Road, Hatfield Broad Oak in the District of Uttlesford, from its junction with Taverners Green for a distance of approximately 60m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 8th April 2025 for 4 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MX06059152/AP -Affinity Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new water supply works are undertaken by Affinity Water.
An alternative route is available via Hammond Road, Broad Street, High Street, Feathers Hill, Old Street Hill, Dunmow Road, Chelmsford Road, Needham Green Road and vice versa.
The Order came into effect on 20th March 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Poplars Lane, White Roding)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Poplars Lane, White Roding in the District of Uttlesford, from its junction with Elms Cottages for a distance of approximately 20m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 8th April 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MX04410248118 - Affinity Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while hydrant repair and replacement works are undertaken by Affinity Water.
An alternative route is available via Poplars Lane, Elms Cottages and vice versa.
The Order came into effect on 20th March 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
